He is beautiful. I had a void I loved very much too. He died at 12.. I still miss him. His name was Obsidian, but I called him Siddy.

I´m finally also landed in this thread and changed my profile pic to a Kitten! 🤣 At the moment I have 5 cats, two old ladies 12 and 13 years old and three younger ladies two sisters 3 years and the mother is 5 years now. I am a cat breeder of british shorthair, but since a year my three breeding cats (the mother and her two siblings ) are on an experimental hormone chip, which makes them quiet for 12-18 months. We will see, what´s going to happen in summer. The Tom Cat is always choosen at a breeders friend, depends also what colours I want and who is available. My maximum amount of cats and kittens was once 20, but I had 3 litters at that time and all have found a loving home.

Fang is beautiful. I love greyscale cats. Also, a woman I know and have a great deal of affection for is named Fang (pronounced "Phong") and now I read "Fang" as that no matter what.

Okay, so here goes my two fur faces!! This first one is Smokey the Cat AKA Sissy Cat. The second one is Radar AKA Kee Cat. Last one is both my chonky boys chillin on the couch.

Just wanted to pop in and say: both my cats are both fat and dumb. I eat a lot of plant-based meat because I like it and it's frequently lower calories than if I used the animal-based kind without any significant sacrifice of enjoyment. (I barely notice that my tofu-based hot dogs aren't hot dogs, cause they've got mustard and celery salt and cucumbers on them. My impossible chik'n patties are indistinguishable from chicken, and so forth.)

I've also been solving the "I really want junk food" and "I really need more protein" problems by dumping a protein shake in a ninja creami container mixed with a spoonful of pistachio pudding mix, freezing it, and having what my brain registers as "chocolate ice cream" later.

Both cats come running and want to eat my food. I'm like "ok, first, I have never, ever given either of you human food and I don't know why you'd think that would change now. Second, this is not what you think it is and I think you wouldn't actually want it if you'd had it.

Neither of them believe me and they both loudly insist that they are starving and that a bite of my chik'n sandwich or my protein-shake ice cream is just what they need to survive. Then they settle in to sit way too close, leaning obnoxiously hard toward me and making strong corner-of-my-eye contact while they breathe on me and look pitiful til I shoo them off the couch because STOP it.

Mine have convinced me that it's only fair if I eat, they eat.
I keep a small container of their snacks handy to pay the toll.
1 kibble apiece seems to do the trick. Feeding them before I eat is also a good distraction.

I wish she were more snuggly or more cuddly. She's got body for it but not the attitude. I've picked her up and put her on my lap every day for the last 7 years and she barely gives me 5-10 minutes before she jumps off and goes back outside. She just lives for the thrill of the hunt.

This morning, as I napped in the guest room (I'm an early riser, DH not so much) my Layla decided the best activity for her Saturday morning was to flip over the HVAC vent cover and climb into the duct. I hear this strange scratching out of a solid sleep.

I get up, look over and see her back and her tail. I was beside myself trying to get her out. It was a harrowing few minutes until DH appeared took one look at the situation and asked for a towel. Meanwhile, she hit the turn in the duct and turned herself around. He held the towel in front of her so she had something to grab onto and out she came.

Destroyed my hand but she's fine.

There's not a micron if plaque in my system now. The adrenaline cleared it all out.

It took me 10 minutes to calm down.

Of everything my pair get into, never ever anything like that. They're usually just freaking themselves out over absolutely nothing. LOL

My son had asked if we could get a kitten from his friend. They had found 2 cats on their property who were dumped. 🙁 one of the cats was pregnant. What was supposed to be 1 kitten, turned into 3. 😂 My son is very convincing.

I'm so jealous of all y'all with your beautiful teddy-bear longhairs. I've always wished the cat distro system would gift me a longhair ("CDS, I see what you've done for others...") but it only gives me tux or greyscale boys. I've never actually picked a cat, and if I wanted to, I'd have to either tell the CDS "no" when it sends me my cat (which is so risky, and also, the ones it sends me are gorgeous and wonderful and an absolute delight to live with) or break the two-cat ceiling, which I will not do.
