They weren’t dealing in fentanyl, they got popped for *almost* sending a chem that can be used in the manufacture of it. And that chem didn’t become sched 1 until 15 days before they got caught on WhatsApp making the deal.

Then wouldn't they still be manufacturing said chem in their lab?

I'm not being rude, and I apologize if it came across as that. I was trying to make an actually analogy of how that should be viewed cost-wise to have fentanyl sprinkled into your peptides (even if by accident).

It's definitely black market. We're smuggling unauthorized copies of patented medications through customs under false pretenses, and then using said medications without a doctor's prescription. I see nothing gray about it. And I 'm all about it

Well, there are very real differences between buying non-controlled substances and controlled substances, which is probably what most people are referring to when it comes to the grey market.

I think the grey vs black distinction is valid. The main difference is that none of us, including the folks manufacturing and selling the products we buy, are going to jail. Even if every single one of our packages is manually inspected by someone in customs they're not going to confiscate it either.

I associate the black market with actual illegal goods and actual risk of law enforcement action against the buyer and the seller.
