Clear Protein

clear protein are just ones that mix well with water and then become clear. I don't think its a technical classification. But having experimented with egg white powder, it mixes ok with water but definitely doesn't get clear. It makes the drink cloudy and frothy. But I still use it in some of my juices.
I do the same thing with juices. Thanks for clearing that up.

20 years ago, Isopure had a line of clear protein drinks. I drank them off and on- they were very much not like other protein drinks.

Circling back here to say I finally tried the 1up Lemon Italian Ice and ALL THUMBS UP. Has anyone tried the cherry?? Are they all fabulous?

I have. It’s good but I’m beginning to think their stuff is too sweet. I went through a jar or the Strawberry Shortcake and Bomb Pop in the past month. I’m tired of drinking protein. Lol

Yeah, I go in phases with stuff. I should probably eat all the Bootylicious protein muffins, Quest chips, and Built puff bars in my pantry before I buy more flavors of this stuff. I have a history of losing interest in the next, best-tasting protein item. 😏

This thread turning into a goldmine of clear protein options that I can actually use. I'm in the same boat with getting tired of the usual shakes and bars, so these suggestions are perfect timing for me.

Yeah I have a feeling im not gonna like them either. I was hoping to find something that just tasted like juice or Gatorade or something. The 2 I've tried I didn't care for and I didn't see sample options for the other's and I'm not willing to drop $40-50 on something that I may end up hating. I guess I'll just stick to adding collagen in my coffee and tea. I get most of my aminos through other avenues so I'm not worried about it being an "incomplete" protein.
FWIW I've been adding aminos (flavored like sour candy) to collagen which turns the mix into something that tastes like Gatorade. I'm not positive the ratios are exactly right but it goes down v. easily in a way that none of the whey drinks (reg, isolate, or clear) ever did.

BCAA + EAA tastes more like sports drinks, and kinda works like a substitute to protein powder depending on the scenario
This is what I add to my collagen in the hopes of making it a complete protein. Tastes like Kool-Aid or Gatorade at least to me.

So next is to try is Oath and MyProtein. Oath didn't have samples but MyProtein does so I'll likely try that next. Does anyone know if supplement stores carries single serve packs? I know GNC used to have single serve for protein shakes back in the day, but I haven't been in one of those for years.
I've used Oath for the last 2 months. The Coconut/pina colada is awesome and I have one every day over ice. I no longer drink alcohol and this just hits a little different as a mocktail 🙂 I'm pretty sure that Target had single serve packs and that is what I tried first.

My struggle is the morning protein shake that I mix with 2 shots of expresso. I hate powder so I'm testing already made even though that's not the most economical approach. I'm currently choking down Soylent vanilla 🤢 because I refuse to pour $35 down the drain LOL off to the next I guess.

How would you rate it's sweetness? I saw some people on reddit say it was overwhelming sweet for them, but taste is highly subjective 🤷‍♀️ I just sent them and oath an email asking if they ever plan on sampler packs.
SEEQ is the way - but ALWAYS use it half strength - i.e. - 1/2 scoop. A full scoop is 4 tablespoons, use 2 tablespoons in 16 ounces of water - cuts the sweetness, has great flavor still.

SEEQ has sample packets to try. Always mix it half strength, which is two tablespoons to 16 ounces of cold water.

I think it's pretty great mixed as directed. Plus then you're getting the full 22g of protein instead of half of that.
That's great 🙂. I just find it way too sweet full strength. But then I've been like that since a kid. My grandfather made his own maple syrup. He'd make a special batch just for me cause I didn't like the sweetness he made his - everyone else did, but not me.

For the full amount of protein - I just drink twice the amount -- helps me stay hydrated at the same time.
