I'm curious how long some of you have been cutting/dieting. What's considered good advice in the fitness or body building world is pretty different then what I think people are doing/seeing here. So I'm interested to see what GLP does to those norms.

Those norms, give or take ofc.
0.5-1% bw per week
10% total bw per phase
10-12 week length.

Personally, I've taken these norms and I'm shooting for ~50-100% beyond those metrics.

My "norms"
0.8% bw per week or 0.21lb per day
10% bw phase
12 week length

My GLP assisted goals
1.8% bw per week or 0.38lb per day
15% bw per week
14-18 week length

Currently I'm close to those goals, I was not training for 11 days. I'm down 8% bw in 46 days or 0.35lb per day. No signs of slowing yet, but I am approaching that diet fatigue length and percentage. I'm very interested to see if I hit a wall at that point or of the Reta I'm taking is just gonna power through.

What's been yalls experience and observations?

I'm just starting my journey! I hope to see other people's thoughts on this. I bet there's a lot to learn!

Used to be a skinny nerd, until I got to a desk job and then started to get bigger and bigger, my max weight was 225.

I've started with Contrave in April 2024 with LiveWell (private clinic), I was about 215 and in the obese BMI. I lost about 15lb over the course of 3 months, but the side effects were horrible, I didn't feel myself most of the time so I stopped.

I then discovered Mounjaro and started that in July. I loved it instantly, it cut the constant cravings I had for food.

Even in Canada, it was too expensive at 400$ per month, since my gf also decided to start it 2 months after me. So I did some research and got into UGL territory in August 2024. At that point I've lost about 12lb.

I've switched to Reta in November and on it since then (5 mg per week). I am now at my gw, 155lb, 17%bf and looking to increase my muscle mass.

So in 11 months, lost 60lb, I must say that, during all these months I was on GLP1.

I also was able to straighten my life in general. I attribute that a lot to this medication. My finance, my relationship with others. What I do, how I work, etc is much much better.

My gf lost about 50lb in 8 months on Tirz, 20 to go for her and she had the same side benefits. We've been together for the last 6 years and gained a lot of weight during that time.

Could've we done that without the med? Yeah of course, but I view it as an aid, a tool that's available to us, why not use it if it can help without too much drawbacks? it allows you to focus more on other aspects of your life and prioritize other things, in exchange of some side effects and a bit of money.

I’ve lost a little Over 100 on tirz in 15 months. The first 9 months or so I dropped pretty quick the last.. little slower the next 3 but I also quit smoking so as to be expected .. the last 3 months have be sloooooooow. I have 20 lbs to my goal weight so it’s not really a surprise.

True, I think there's an inherent trade-off between risk and effort in almost everything, and GLPs fit my description for low risk, high reward. Losing weight on my own hasn't been impossible but I eventually reached a ceiling of how much weight I can lose. Trying to lose more would begin to leach focus, willpower and effort from other aspects of life which is not a trade-off I'm willing to make.

Thabks for sharing folks! Would you say the glp-1s are yoir longest cuts? Or largest? Have you come close to the length or weight loss before?

Coming from my background I gotta admit it's crazy to me to see such long cuts. Now, I've done long cuts myself, in my 20s but the older I get the less likely that is to work for me. I think my largest cut was way back when I first started getting serious in my early 20s. I went from a high of 210 down to 162. I wanna say it was 4-6mo long, man it's been so long I don't remember exactly lol.

I'm hoping I don't push this past 16 weeks, which is probably pretty conservative. I'd rather be conservative though, so I can hop onto maintenance and a bulk before cutting again in the winter/spring. I'll have to assess when I get there.

As of today, day 51, down 16.6lb or 0.325lb a day.

I lost 70 pounds, began Labor Day 2023. In maintenance now and trying to tweak the perfect formula for maintenance. I am maintaining with 12 mg Tirz twice a month but I keep losing weight so I need to use less Tirz. I used compounded for the first three months, bought domestic gray for two months, then went with CN gray the whole remainder beginning with XCE and moving through at least three other vendors. I am over 55 and have all the hair and skin issues which are common with GLP-1s but this journey has been worth it and I am grateful for the opportunity.

81.7lbs in 35 weeks. 33.7% reduction in body weight. Steady weight loss with no plateaus, but it has definitely slowed down in the last 6+ weeks. I am about 10lbs away from my goal. I have been stacking Tirz and Reta. The relative amounts have varied over time. Currently at 5mg Tirz and 12mg Reta, split dosed on 4 different days. I will stay there until maintenance. I don't know what maintenance will look like and I expect to be experimenting for months until I finally figure out the sweet spot.

dude, change that avatar so i remember not to flirt with you.

damn.

Damn is right!

I've been flirting with her, too, lately — and I'm a woman (who likes men). But repeated exposure to that photo of her wearing not much more than pearls and lipstick .. well, it finally did me in 🤣

PS. This new information does, however, perhaps shed some light on that scarywood name ...
