De minimus ends 8/29

It won't change much. De minimus was suspended earlier this year, in case you weren't aware.

I don't think this is just BP. It is my opinion that the current administration wants to collect as little from direct taxation of the citizenry and as much from the producers and importers as possible. They do not realize, and possibly, do not care if the end consumer is dependent on the overseas producer because the item is not made in the US. All they care about is sucking as much money in as possible so it looks like $0 in taxes.

Agree. I just replaced part of a mirror that broke. The replacement part was $4 it shipped from Sweden...for more than the part but I was still coming out ahead. Then FedEx and Customs started asking insane questions about its size and the electronics involved (none fyi). In the end they found that the part was from China so four different tarrifs applied resulting in 51% tariff plus fees from FedEx. Excluding the shipping I paid 175% in additional fees. --This is going to be very ugly. If you are a wine distributor will you have to pay tariffs for wine, the bottle, the lable, and the cork?
