Doritos with Protein

I was at my local Walmart last night and thought I would look for the protein Doritos…. what a trip, I haven’t been down that isle in a long time! Anyway, they didn’t have Doritos, but they did have this…..
What the heck are those abominations lmao!! I mean I love me some pop-tarts but come on now lol.

Seems to me that the 'protein craze' is inspired by concern for muscle loss related to weight loss (enhanced by GLP1's) and aging. From what I have heard, eating protein does not prevent or reverse that process. The only effective approach is resistance training. Eating this crap doesn't do it. And all the products mentioned in this thread are ultra high processed foods which are killing us in so many ways

FYI, I am not a foodie fanatic. Nor am I a gym bro of any sort. I'm a 60-ish yr old who lost a ton of weight and based on the above, I lift weights twice a week and eat whatever I want, just less of it. Try to avoid processed food but by no means eliminate it. And work out enough to be effective but much less than I probably should.
I mean I appreciate that folks like Doritos (I mean Cool Ranch is better than nacho cheese, but I digress) and want to add a few in and add in some protein while doing it. Are these healthy? No. Of course they aren't. I don't think anyone thinks they are. Of course eating whole foods is better. Everything in moderation you know. I do a clear protein shake (Seeq) every now and again myself. Thing is, sometimes it's damn hard to get protein in. If this adds some protein to better met your goals, it's fine. It's when you live on a diet of ultra processed synthetic foods that it's bad for you. Again Cool Ranch for life but I'm OK with letting folks have a little fun now and again.

I saw freaking poptarts with added protein the other day. Poptarts. Yes I did grab them but I need you to understand that I was going to get poptarts anyway.

Thats a point. If your drug of choice has an added protein option is it a plus. Report on if it's changed the flavor for you. I can understand if you love pop tarts the generic version might be pale imitation will the protein added meet your addiction? Let us know

I couldn't taste much difference. I drink protein shakes regularly and I'm am probably use to the taste. Now my husband didn't like the taste at all. He does not drink or eat processed protein foods. So not for everyone.
