swap to someone more reliable than paypal. so many decent crypto platforms out there. pick out one that specializes in crypto and supports wide varieties of tokens
based on my conversations with others, its mostly a decision made based on the comfort of dealing with a familiar platform rather than a desire to try to find a new alternative.Just curious why people use PayPal to transfer crypto. Is it significantly cheaper to purchase vs an exchange like Coinbase? That doesn't seem likely since Coinbase is already fairly inexpensive. I never hear any problems with ACH transfers to an exchange from PayPal or bank accounts.
Were you sending the currency of your choice to a vendor, or your own non-PayPal wallet?
Cashapp, Venmo, PayPal etc all keep tabs on wallet addresses that frequently get payments that look gray or illegal. They get blacklisted, and you’re prevented from sending that address any crypto. Sometimes if they’re feeling bold they might freeze your account.
The fix, use a wallet of your own to send crypto to, first. Exodus is out there, Kraken is another… there are tons.
So, usually goes CashApp/Venmo/Paypal/etc ——> Your Wallet ——> vendor.
Also, if I misunderstood your issue, I’m sorry for that semi long winded answer.
Thanks, I was using a desktop. It may be completely unrelated (and their reply seems to indicate this is a new issue), but I’ve seen some folks say that when they try to transfer out of PayPal on the mobile app, it freezes their funds (and sometimes locks their account), but when they do it from a web browser on a desktop, it works (and that’s frequently after having to call them to get the accounts unlocked.) They indicated, after talking to PayPal multiple times, that buying crypto in the app and then transferring via a desktop has been problem free since that bug popped up a while ago. Might be worth a shot.
I get stuck in that same loop when I try to do it via the web browser. If I switch to the mobile app, it usually doesn't get stuck there and lets the transaction go through.Sending to my Exodus wallet but it never got far enough along for me to indicate where I was sending it. It was stuck in a loop on this prompt.
I'd hit the get started button and it would refresh back to point 1.
Rooted phone, no app for me.
The very first time I ever bought crypto on PayPal they held it for 10 days. I'm like wtf, I've had a PayPal account since 2000!!! What pissed me off the most was that it was THEIR F'ING CRYPTO!After holding my funds for 5 days they still can't transfer funds.
Try turning off wifi and vpn and send to a hot wallet like trustwallet using your data. I had the same issue with paypal not letting me transfer even after holding my crypto for 3-5 days but when i used data instead of wifi it oddly worked. I would avoid paypal like the plague its been absolutely horrendous for me. I prefer using moonpay on trustwallet which lets me top up with no fees and i get the crypto instantly.
Haven't tried Kraken yet. Just curious why you prefer it to Coinbase. Cheaper purchases, easier interface, safer?Kraken is the best US exchange.
Cake is the best mobile Android wallet.
Fite me.

Thanks. I'll give Kraken a try for my next transaction. They're cheaper, yes, but less scummy overall. They publish annual transparency reports and last year they only provided info for 50something percent of government data requests. They're known for actually asking for warrants before just handing it over.
Also they are the only one to keep Monero listed despite massive pressure to delist it. XMR is how you truly destroy the forensic trail on the blockchain and everyone knows it.
Their customer service is also good. And they don't get hacked as often as other exchanges. (Everyone's been hit)
I also like their android app it's intuitive.
So basically skipping the middle man? Any trouble with you bank not letting the transaction go through?I gave up on using Paypal and coinbase. I ended up using my debit card to buy crypto on exodus.
Correct. No issues with my bank but I did start off with doing small transfers. So basically skipping the middle man? Any trouble with you bank not letting the transaction go through?
Just so you know, buying and swapping crypto is very expensive within Exodus. Very high fees. You should consider going the usual route of getting an account on an exchange (Kraken, Coinbase etc.).Who here is fluent in buying crypto through Exodus using a debit card?
I opened a Kraken, and from what I can tell I'm froze for 4 to 7 days because it's a new account. I can't do anything but buy and let it sit there. Thank you for the info though. Just trying to pay my guy for my goodies.Just so you know, buying and swapping crypto is very expensive within Exodus. Very high fees.
