I have more stupid questions:Found the answer. I needed to change the settings in Assets:

So I enabled SOL as an asset/network for USDT. I disabled the other networks for USDT to make things more foolproof.
Not a stupid question! I was learning all of this in the last couple of weeks. Best to stick with one for now or else you will continue losing $ in fees every time you swap. I just kept googling until I was able to put it all together in my brain, LOL I wish it was as simple as gathering all of the change in my pockets together for a grand total!I have more stupid questions:
Is USDT on SOL different from USDT on ETH or TRON? am I just picking a network to move the coin on or do i need to pick a lane when purchasing and stick t it all the way through?

So it looks like the only Tether you buy on Coinbase is all ERC(ETH)Adding to what others have said.
It's best to think of USDT-sol, USDT-erc20 (ETH), and USDT-trc20 (Tron) as completely different things.
For example, it's easier and cheaper to change USDT-sol into SOL than it is to change it into USDT-erc20.
Yeah, if you want anything SOL the easiest way is through venmo or paypal since PYUSD is part of the SOL network. So you can transfer PYUSD to your exodus wallet and then use the Jupiter Web3 app to convert to anything else on the SOL network for a few pennies. So it looks like the only Tether you buy on Coinbase is all ERC(ETH)
now all I gotta do is get Coinbase to let go of the hold they have on my $ SMH
If you're in Coinbase be sure to not fall for their "Base" network! I don't know of any vendor who accepts Base.So it looks like the only Tether you buy on Coinbase is all ERC(ETH)

Like their specific coin, the way Crypto . com has their own? I bought BTC (bc I got a $50 promo in BTC) and used it to buy USDT, transferred the first batch to Exodus and hopefully will be able to send the rest tomorrowIf you're in Coinbase be sure to not fall for their "Base" network! It's a network. When you transfer crypto to your wallet you might be prompted to use it. Buy a bit of Eth or Sol to cover the minuscule fees you'll incur.Like their specific coin, the way Crypto . com has their own?
