GLPs can also influence bone turnover by directly, or indirectly, modulating the activity of osteoblast and osteoclast cells

Recent bone density shows my osteopenia has improved 14% since the addition of tirzepatide and extra calcium. I don't know which or if both are responsible but I'm sticking with both.

That’s impressive improvement! Thanks so much for your response and sharing your experience. My insurer only provides 1 DEXA scan each 5 years; this year’s results shows mild osteopenia. In addition to tirzepatide, I pin BPC157, for purported bone healing. Did you get a scan outside of insurance coverage?

Maybe read up on oxandrolone (anavar). Its an oral AAS. Don't let that scare you it has a ton of research and at 5-10mg daily has been used in trearing muscle wasting disease, burn victims, and healing of ligaments and tendons, plus it can strengthen bones. These were treated in kids and women too.

I got them through insurance. Looks like I'm getting them every 3 yrs. Maybe with the osteopenia diagnosis they'll step up your frequency although improvement takes time. I found out about osteopenia the hard way when I fell and what should have been a clean fracture was a crumble requiring a 12" plate installed in my arm. The plate is intended for legs!

Your 12” ORIF plate for humerus comminution fracture fixation was designed for tibial fx fixation? Hope it is lightweight titanium. Your humerus must be a long one!
My PCP offered one, but I’m not using any prescription med to treat mild osteopenia. I bicycle almost every day, so I’ve tumbled onto my L side every now and again, with 4 tumbles resulting in twice each fractures of my radial head and twice my collarbone. I got an ORIF plate on my L Clavicle. I’m fortunate that my fractures have been far less frequent than my tumbles. It’s theoretically possible that my bike frame, pedals, saddle, bars, act as vibration platforms to stimulate an increase in BONE Mineral Density.
