Hey Everyone,

I have a question for you about protein. Well, currently I don't count my macros, but I have a problem to get my 1g/kg of protein. So normaly I would supplement it with a shake. But what kind of shake does make sense? Because most shakes I tried were barely drinkable, when they were mixed with water. With milk, everything was fine and tasety. But with water it was just bad.

Can you suggest a specific product, that is available in the EU, mainly in Germany or Bulgaria? Thank you!

ESN Designer Whey Protein with Strawberry taste. With milk ist was good, without not so much. I tried Sportness from DM. And another 2. But I can't remember the brand.

I used to have Biotech usa and now I mostly use HSN whey isolate or from Big Zone the Battle Isolate.HSN is from Spain.

Taste is so personal.. but I guess if we are talking about the usual milky protein powder, Optimum Nutrition - you can get it pretty much anywhere in the world.

Mutant Iso Surge Gourme is king for me! Running now cookie cream flavour and I'm obsessed of the taste. Also coconut, and peanut butter are awesome. Pretty tasty is Per4m, but not as good as Mutant. From Per4m I got Dubai Chocolate, and White Chocolate Hazelnut. But I'm very into kind of nut, coconut, cookies flavours...not so much into strawberry, or vanilla kind of...

My go to protein powder is Star nutrition- raspberry. Easy to mix and tastes good with water. Even better with milk 🙂

I usually get disappointed buying protein powder. Coffee is one flavour I have more or less given up finding a really tasty one. They all taste so damn sweet. I find the neutral ones like vanilla or chocolate works the best and you can pimp them out yourself with Cocoa powder, cinnamon, coffee etc.

Clear Whey I thought tasted a bit weird but I added some electrolytes to it and it was better also using a electric motor driven shaker because of all the foam building in a normal shaker with the clear ones.

Casein is nice before bed and usually tastes better than whey I think. Bought a night Casein though and that one doesn't taste very good with the extra dietary supplements mixed in.

However protein powder are a life saver for me as I can't for the life of me get all the protein i need daily from food.

What's the harm in mixing it with milk then?
Sure you have 'a few' extra calories but it's not like it's that much, i always used skimmed milk (lowest fat). In Belgium an Netherlands there's milk from the dutch giant with another extra 75g protein/liter. If that's too much lactose i'd mix it with rice milk, but that does have quite some sugar in it.
I always drank the 'gold standard' banana shakes. they taste like milk shake, specially when you use cooled milk!

I use low fat milk when I have any and it's a game changer in taste and consistency for sure. 200 ml milk and 100 ml water.

The problem with Milk is the sugar. Or the carbs. If you take 400ml Milk, you have about 20g sugar. And it's to much. At least I think so... If I would take a protein shake, I would not use a low fat milk, I would use raw milk. Maybe mixing it with water will help. But the best would be, if it's tasty just with water.

And the shakes, that I tried before, they were not. For me (and my body) the Texture of the drink is just wrong. With the result, that my body want's to get rid of it asap. (Even without GLP-1).

You should be good with a reputable whey powder and almond or soy milk. Dairy milk makes it too frothy and thick for me. Thorne is the product I use, that said, I always drink my protein shakes in about five drinks because none of them are going to taste as good as a milkshake or latte. I’m not trying to enjoy the experience. Eat to live, not live to eat mentality

I swear on QNT Light Digest Whey Protein, 500 g - preferably Hazelnut or Pistachio. I mix it with kefir, joghurt drink or buttemilk for a creamy consistency. I've tried some others but prefer the light digest - some of the others make me burp ;-)

400ml milk per shake is a lot tho. And 20g of carbs is not that much. Even if you're doing a keto diet you would still be in ketosis up until 50-60g of carbs. But if you can find a tasty one to mix with water be my guest, i think they're disgusting with water, even the clear whey.

I use one scoop per 200ml milk. With water i think they taste like shit. Then again i try to avoid the shakes if i can. Even any clear whey is disgusting..
