Been watching a group buy discord for a bit. Is it normal for the group buy vendor to not disclose the vendor for the buy, even after it’s closed? This one didn’t even include batch numbers or anything related to tracking the product for other third party tests for comparison.

Just not used to the secrecy. Also there are some vendors I would not want to trust buying from at the moment.

The group buys I'm currently watching are special orders, done for the group, and include testing of these specific batches. Could that be the case with what you're watching?

It also seems like there are secondary middlemen communicating/negotiating with the producers or possibly even another middle man who then negotiates with producers. I'm not too worried about it, if only because of the included testing.

I've never done a gb but will likely pull the trigger this weekend.

Just out of curiosity. How much cheaper do they offer the stuff in group buys compared to normal prices?
With my extremely limited insight of approximately one week reading months of telegram gb threads: some are very very good pricing, particularly for higher or custom dose or blend peps. And some I'm like, I can get that cheaper from a vendor today. Mostly the former, but a couple I'm like meh. But add in the automatic/mandatory testing that accompanies it for a seemingly nominal fee ($10-15), it's understandable.

GB Vendor could want to protect their sources as proprietary. Also when they let people know the vendor people invariably harass that vendor directly about details regarding the buy... I could see that continuing after the delivery.

I'm a dealer for some products and I deal directly with the mfg but some other dealers go through distributors. The distributors are generally never known about, thus they don't have to deal with any retail communications which can save a lot of hassle. The mfg usually says talk to your dealer, the dealer handles the problem. In this example the GB Vendor is the dealer, the distributor is the vendor, and the mfg is rarely known.

Perhaps I'm in the wrong places for these things. Haven't really picked up on any GB type groups. I'm open to the prospect but not actively looking for them. Any general recommendations on avoiding scammy people in the GB space?

All the ones I have seen have disclosed but, as was pointed out earlier, their may be valid reasons for the decision. I think most disclosed because, if its a known good vendor, it is a selling point. Personslly, i think it would only make sense to go into a group buy with an unknown source if the prices were substantially better than you could get in other group buys with a known source. I still wouldn't do it, but if the price is good enough, I could understand why someone would do it.

It is not secrecy. A lot of people try to contact the vendors directly for better pricing, for questions about delivery times, and all the annoying things. Thus, the GB vendor will keep the vendor undisclosed until after testing. Because there is a subset of people that just. can. not. behave!

How does one actually use T140/R140? splitting with others and/or into smaller vials?

I’m not taking Tirz currently.

For Reta, there’s two main concerns, concentration and reconstituted life.

I don’t know how I feel about 50mg/ml concentration… it’s not a problem if I filter it to put it in a 5ml vial.

7 week reconstituted life isn’t a concern for me.

I'm waiting for the labs, and volume to mix a R140. Wife and I are doing 9mg. I'll use 3ml in the Reta, filter into a 10ml vial and use another 3ml for 6 total. This should give me 15 doses at 38 units. Roughly 8 weeks if math doesn't suck again.

There was a recent incident with this exact scenario. A buyer in a GB started harassing the vendor in a public forum. Of course, the buyer was booted. People can't seem to control themselves.

Y’all take the same dose as me.

If you take your first dose when you reconstitute it you save a week of life, hence my 7 weeks vs y’all’s 8, just a different way to count.

I'm way into the GB's lately. I'm in three of the big ones and I'm enjoying the hell out of them.

I like that the prices are very low, the three and a half (one is not actually a group buy, that dude is a vendor by every definition, but whatever) have a lot of members, I like the testing setup, and I like the ease of ordering. Also, it means the ship-to-me happens from a US address, so if there's a customs seizure, my name is not on the package.

Also, if there IS a customs seizure or a zero pep result (both of which have happened on Gb's I was in), then there's someone ELSE handling the back and forth yes-you-did-no-I-didn't bullshit that would exhaust me in no time.

I also kind of like the twists and turns. I'm waiting on a replacement from a buy that came back underfilled from back in the fall. They worked with the vendor and argued with the vendor and eventually went to a totally different vendor to replace, and we got the kits....which came back zero pep, so now there's ANOTHER replacement coming. (I'm not bothered; I'd never use something before a test came back, and I'm still using the underfilled batch, which ends up being free because of the replacement. So as long as the replacement ultimately does happen, I come out ahead.)

@ZippityDooDah has been pretty vocal about the downsides of Gb's, and I don't actually disagree with him. I may change my tune after the second or third time a GB runs off with my money. But I think they're right for what I want and what I'm willing to accept at this very moment. I have everything I NEED, and I mostly just order a kit of something or other that my mom wants (if I got scammed on a my-mom order, she would never know it happened; I'd replace out of my own pocket) or something I just want to have, and the long turnaround keeps me buying SLOWLY, which is good because an addict is an addict and clearly this is feeding some deeper impulse.

(Please don't DM me for GB links, it's hard for me to find them and I really save "on request" helping work for employment situations.)

With tirz at least there are currently clinical trials at 20 and 25mg doses a week, so it becomes less crazy to think about. But sure, sharing or splitting reconned vials it makes sense.
If you ever catch me shooting 25mg of Reta a week just end my suffering

I've seen a mix. I'm in 2 gbs atm, one with a disclosed vendor and one without. For the one without, I'm fine with it. Often you are buying on the GB orgs reputation vs vendor rep, plus you get testing, domestic shipping (from the org to me) and they deal with the headaches if anything goes wrong.

I have months worth of everything I need, so I use the gbs to just stock up at lower costs. 12 weeks for delivery doesn't bother me since I don't need anything in the gbs for at least 6 months. And if it takes longer, I'll just get a kit or 2 to bridge the gap.

And with any order (gb or vendor), I never spend anything I can't afford to lose. This ain't Amazon, so at the end of the day any "guarantee" only matters if they actually make good on it.

Any general recommendations on avoiding scammy people in the GB space?
I’d advise to join groups that are recommended by people you trust. Watch their TG (or whatever platform they use) for a while to get the lay of the land, see how the group buy officer communicates, look at the closed buys to get an idea of how fast shipping/testing is and what their history is like. Nothing is a guarantee though…recently there was a big to-do when a GB Vendor bounced with several thousand USD and left people hanging.

If you join groups that haven’t been recommended, be especially careful. I recently joined a group (for a funded experiment, not a purchase) and several people who’d committed to pay left after the group was closed, which made us have to scramble for funding. Luckily the admins were excellent and with a few extra donations, made it happen.

I appreciate that people are always looking for the lowest prices and best products, but the term "group buy" does not apply to 99% of these "deals" and it unfortunately frequently results in people (especially "newbies") getting the exact opposite of what they hoped for.

I'll go into this deeper at some point when it's not a holiday and eleventy billion degrees outside, but for now I'll offer this little tidbit:

Here's a simple criteria for determining if a "group buy" is really a group buy: Is the "orɡanizer" publicly providing detailed accounting for every single penny paid and spent, and disclosing their compensation (be it money or product)? If the answer is no, then it's not a group buy and simply a vendor offering a group promotion at better than usual prices, perhaps with the addition of third-party testing. If they're not sharing the details of the money in/out, then they're in it for profit as a business—not your friend, buddy, or "plug"—and calling themselves a "group buy orɡanizer" is a blatant lie. Never send money to liars.

Fair, and I ought to have linked to one of your rundowns in my original post, so that it's not out there hanging out and influencing new people with no counterpoint unless you stop what you're doing and post it. Sorry bout that.

I've bought 60% of my hoarding pile from GB's, and still waiting on 4 or 5. Not much going on in the ones I watch, but I've left a bunch. I'll likely only buy if it's a killer deal..
Don't message me either.

He doesn't really mean that. This 👆 guy lovesssss to meet new people. He's just very shy and very very very awkward at times 😞
