Has anyone gotten labs and had your bloodwork get worse?

We all hear about all the good but not so much the bad. Who has had the bad and what did that look like in your bloodwork?

Well define “worse” for me please, because most things just go slowly downhill as you age.
I’m not talking about a general trend, that is expected as you age as you pointed out haha. I’m more referencing something like you get bloodwork done, run a stack for 3 months, and get a blood test at the end. If something suddenly started trending or trended in the wrong direction. Either that you weren’t expecting or was an unintended consequence of your protocol. Sorry if my question was unclear.

No
I've lost 50+ lbs twice in my life just using diet and now once with GLPs. I get bloodwork done anytime I make a significant lifestyle change. The changes with GLP are consistent with just dieting, with perhaps an advantage to GLP use. I've experienced pretty significant positive changes across my labs with a significant weight loss, no matter what method. In particular, HbA1c and blood pressure improve pretty rapidly. Inflammation markers and blood lipids as well to a lesser extent. My first attempt at shedding weight with diet was a negotiation with my PCP to keep from starting on blood pressure meds. It works.

It's nice to have objective measurements to show you're improving things and not screwing up.

I’ve been on Reta for 4 weeks now and my blood pressure(which was pretty horrendous to begin, I’m very overweight and my family has bad heart history) has improved dramatically. My systolic has dropped 35 and my diastolic has dropped 29. And my resting heart rate has actually dropped 15bpm. I am also down 15 pounds. Even if some of my blood work came back bad, I feel the positive trend in these locations would far outweigh any “bad” bloodwork.

My blood work has improved by leaps and bounds, sorry to disappoint. The only negative has been resting heart rate, which went up 12-15 bpm. It's come down now, but still higher than normal.

When I started with compounded tirz in October and told my doc in December, he wasn't a fan, said I wasn't "obese" (BMI 34.9, 277#). He agreed to monitor my bloodwork quarterly though. From my initial labs in October, to the first check in December, to my second check in Feb, my testosterone went from 770-850-1040. Doc didn't like these numbers and was concerned, was convinced that the compounding pharmacy was adding testosterone to the meds. I guess he thought that was "worse" but all my other numbers were significantly better. I told him to fuck off and found a new doc...

There are more than few Docs who are taking low dose Tirz themselves while not being obese or diabetic. The evidence for it is pretty compelling, although no where near being made part of official guidelines. Remember that when dealing with Docs, many of them are doing things themselves they feel constrained from admitting or recommending.

It would be funny if they could put "GLP1 agonist deficiency" as a contributing cause on death certificates, because it's true in a lot of cases.

I’ve had blood work come back worse before but it wasn’t due to peptides but more due to running orals along side my stack.

After my gastric surgery, all my liver enzymes were elevated. I had NAFLD and a few months later they were all fine along with other metabolic numbers. But some other numbers worsened with the weight loss, such as testosterone, IGF-1, etc. The hernia might be responsible for that, though.

My cholesterol and A1C have dropped. I'm actually due for another, and have paperwork from the doctor to get one done.

Same here. I finally had my annual blood work done earlier this month (was supposed to be in Nov, but me and procrastination have a thing) and my doc actually used exclamation marks to tell me my cholesterol was great now! TBF, the only marker that was still frustratingly low is WBC and it's been low for years. It's not so bad he wants to address it with meds, but it's just under the published standard range, and it's just really strange that it's been like that for the last 4 years or so. (Which is why I've started pinning sermorelin in the hopes it does what it says on the tin - or more accurately "vial").

Yes yes. Now you can eat more gabagool

My sodium levels, bicarbonate and cysteine levels have been very low for 8 months now. Everything else remained same or improved.

I have some✋

My blood pressure has always been too low, even when obese. Reta has lowered it even more, and losing 50lbs has compounded the issue even further. It has helped to keep doses low, exercise a bit more, and add more electrolytes to my diet, but I definitely still feel weaker day-to-day than before I lost any weight. Oh well, I hope my body will adjust over time. Bit of a niche issue since most people on Reta start out with high blood pressure.

My ketones are elevated a bit but not to a dangerous level.

I see. I don't need bloodwork to answer this. There was a point when I was gaining weight on reta. In the end it evened out to net zero, but anyway I guess that counts as "wrong" direction.

My folate fell to borderline low, supplementing it now.

My B12 pulled back minorly, also supplementing it.

HDL has never been particularly high, but while cutting and starting TRT, it has ranged from 34-41mg/dl with 40 being the bottom of the reference range.

Otherwise, all my labs related to weight loss are doing great.

My sodium levels have been low the last two BT. I was drinking way to much water and flushing good stuff out. Been drinking Gatorade Zero or 1/2 packet of Liquid IV. Both 250mg. Doing 1/2 Liquid IV is 250mg too. I can go whenever I want for my next BT.

Yes, I limit my water now daily, eat a lot of salty foods and hope for the best.
Tried the unflavored electrolytes but can’t stomach them and any sweeten drink is out of a question (could never drink this stuff and tastes to me even worse than unflavored…)
In reality, my dose is still too high but can’t do anything about it as I’m part of a clinical trial and my dose was already reduced from 12 to 9mg….
Once the trial is over I will have more control over dosing and hopefully things will level off then…

Everything has improved, my doctor told me that no cardiologist would have anything negative to say about my blodwork.
My trigycerides has improved and overall cholesterol is perfect.
The only thing i need to work with is high ferritin.
I have every lab done with iron and it is perfect except ferritin.
And my liver is in perfect condition.
But my ferritin has been high for more than 10’years 600-700 range.

My glucose, A1C, Triglycerides, and cholesterol improved on Tirzepatide, 8 weeks now. I can't really tell if anything is worse.

Some things that were already not optimal did not improve.

The biggest change is glucose, from 106 to 83, I think that took me from borderline pre-diabetic to normal, which is a big deal I think that is a fairly dramatic change, at least on paper. That is the lowest my glucose has ever been, since... I can't even remember when, but I have the labs all the way back to 2019 and it was 98 back then and I was 30 lbs. lighter than I am now and in better shape physically than I am now, by far.

I put a pinch of Redmond or Baja Gold salt in my water, I drink avg. 5 500ml bottles a day, spring water, I stopped drinking distilled water.

I use just a tiny bit of Celsius drink to put flavor in my water.

Hyponatremia is an absolute horrible state. I had to go the emergency room once because of it. Made me start learning about electrolytes.

Only been on Reta for 2 weeks, but just had a Dr. appt this morning. BP was perfect, HR was the same as last time. Waiting on the lab results for the blood still. I'm hoping my follow up in August will show some improvement in my cholesterol, I really wanna stop taking a statin.
