Not sure on dose. But you should get your level checked before treatment. On a side note why do you want to inject Vitamin d vs. taking a pill?

yes, death.
Reaching death takes a lot more than that and is far rarer — long before it gets that far you’d run into plenty of other stuff first: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, intense thirst, constant peeing, weakness, fatigue, confusion, muscle and bone pain, and kidney damage.

Overdosing on Vitamin D can happen as it's fat soluble and can build up in the body. Symptoms are lethargy, mental confusion and others. It happened to me when I was diagnosed with low levels and I was prescribed 10,000 IU capsules. I misread the label and started taking them daily instead weekly. Within 4 days I was a mess and had to explain to my boss why my performance went in the gutter. He thought I was having a mental breakdown and in a way, I was.

Vitamin D is no joke and you need to know your baseline and know what precise dosages are needed to correct it, if any. And that's with just the pill form.

She didn't say anything about the dose she wanted to inject herself with.

Last year, an octogenarian managed to cause calcification in his heart by taking too much of it for too long. Of course, it’s so rare that it makes the headlines. I don’t think it’s a good idea to minimize the risks and lead a noob to believe it’s risk-free.

Go to this US based vendor called CVS and buy your pills there, after having your levels checked.

My body doesn’t absorb it well and my levels are low

I’ve had an injection twice and had no issues. It took me from 2 numbers above the lowest value, to the upper 1/4 of the range, which is where my dr wanted it. After the first one I was able to maintain levels for a little over a year with oral, but then it started declining again. Before it went into the gutter, did another injection.

Hi there!! My functional medicine doctor prescribed me 0.5ml injection 2x a week. I just started this week but i didnt notice any side effects tbh.
That being said idk if injecting that and my reta on the same day is what caused me to have insane sulfur burps/diarrhea (sorry for the tmi) for the last few days or if i have a stomach bug.

Are you maxing out non-peak-sun sunshine walks? Human beings naturally produce vitamin D from UVB rays, not by food ingestion (let alone supplements).

No, i had gastric bypass in 2007 so my body doesn’t absorb the vitamins well even sometimes in vitamins over the counter. I stayed thin for a long time until my sister passed away. I had a bad mental break down my doc put me on Paxil i gained most my weight back, but still my vitamins didn’t change. I’m on Tirzepitide but that’s not the question. I wanted to no more about Vitamin D injections .

I don't understand your reply. Your body isn't supposed to absorb vitamin D...it's supposed to make it. Gastric bypass doesn't affect that. Staying indoors too much does. Do an internet search (for reliable sources of medical info) if your doctor hasn't explained that to you.

If your dr has rx the shots, then it’s probably for good reason, and your situation with gastric bypass puts you at higher risk for deficiencies.

For people who tell you to spend more time in the sun, I know it’s not always the answer. I spend several hours a day wearing a sports bra and shorts gardening in direct sun, and living in a beach town, have spent most of my life in a bikini, and still have dealt with low levels. There are also genetic mutations that make for poor conversion. Everyone doesn’t respond the same way.

I’m sorry for the loss of your sister, and hope you can get your levels optimal.
