As the title says I’m looking for input for other ladies over 50 who are on this pilgrimage (not a journey to me, that sounds too easy). I’m 59 and have been overweight since I hit puberty. Total hysterectomy at 44. No major health problems.

SW 322
CW 308
GW 200ish

I started December 15th on sema. I’m making decent progress. I’m up to .5 on dose but thinking about switching to tirz. I ordered a 30mg kit a while back. Going back and forth on changing and maybe doing a small sema kicker on my 3rd or 4th day each week if I need it. I have been having more cravings on day 6 and 7 each week.

I’m having trouble getting motivated to exercise. This happens to me every winter. I know that’s what it is. If I get my butt up and go to the gym I always feel better but depression is a killer to motivation. I’m on this mission alone. Nobody around me with time is interested in going with me so I’m gonna have to find that motivation alone. I did get a recumbent bike and some free weights and I’m trying to do that every day.

I've got my nutrition under control I think. Trying to hit the protein goal everyday but sometimes I miss. Making sure to get fiber every day and so far that has kept me and the toliet in good standing. I try to drink enough everyday but some days I feel like I'm gonna float off. I'm not counting calories because all the fatty foods I usually love is kinda gross to me right now. Plus after doing the calculation to see how many calories I would need to eat to maintain my weight I know I'm probably at half that amount. If you haven't done that yet, look it up.

I’m worried about the sagging skin! I’ve had so many surgeries in the last decade (mostly ortho stuff - back, hands, arm). I just got out of debt from having my gallbladder out but I consider that win with the GLP-1s. I know I’m not going to be a young hottie but I hate the idea of having to tuck and compress loose skin for the rest of my life or get it cut off.

Just looking for feedback from other mature ladies. Suggestions? Experiences you’re having?

I am right there with you. I've pretty much given my whole story in this thread --> here <-- in case you are interested. I just added reta after I got to 1mg of sema and just kept on taking both. There are already others taking both tirz and sema so I see no reason to do anything different (unless you get a troublesome side effect)

I am personally resigned to having loose skin but that doesn't mean I am not going to try and prevent it as much as possible. I am taking KLOW and drinking my water. I also moisturize in case that will help at all. I don't know if any of it is going to work but it couldn't hurt.

I have read your posts and I was hoping you would reply. Have you started the KLOW? Noticing any results?

Hi, welcome & I hope your pilgrimage is going well!! I am 57, started on Sema in 2023, didn't expect it to work but BAM! I lost a lot of weight. SW 211, got down to 152 lbs. I have always worked out, for me, no one but me. I was never bigger than 180 (besides after having my kids) but after age 50, the weight just packed on. #menopause UGH!!! I thought I could manage without the Sema & stopped it for about 8 months. I gained 11 back so I got back on SEMA with no results, didn't work the 2nd time.

That is when I switched to TIRZ. Now, it is working well for me again. I would stick with SEMA, it is working for you. Don't switch until you stop getting results. You are only on 0.5mg, you can go up to 0.75, then 1.0 , 1.25, 1.50, 1.75 & up to 2.0 I believe. Give yourself some time. You are losing! Woo hoo!!

Everyone on every blog tells me to switch to Reta. I am not interested in switching to Reta because it is the new shiny toy. The Tirz is working for me so I am going to continue what is working.

*You also have to resign yourself to work out for YOU". No one is interested in working out with me either. I loved my Crossfit gyms but they kept closing, then there was OrangeTheory (too expensive), so I bought a beautiful Peloton bike. The Peloton bike is the best piece of exercise equipment I have ever owned. I LOVE it! I can do it every day if I want to, rain or shine. There is tons of other workouts too, yoga, weight lifting, walking (in the app, you can listen while you are out on your walk), running (no thanks), and rowing too. It keeps track of your calorie burn (on my apple watch) & all of my progress. Plus, if you keep track of your calories (which I do, in an app), then you see the calories that you burn and it shows the deficit. Then you lose more weight.

I know you are worried about the skin, but think of the pressure that the weight is putting on your joints. Your hips, knees, your back, etc. they will thank you, so will your heart, and blood vessels. Don't worry about the skin until it actually happens. You are putting the cart before the horse. Ha Ha!

You've got this. And just so you know, when I call my friends, the first thing they say is, "NO, I don't want to go for a walk with you!!" Ha Ha! I cannot be offended, it just means I am persistant. I finally found a group of friends that DOES walk with me every weekend but if they can't go, I am still going to go without them. You have to rely on yourself to do it.

No go get 'em!! Keep us posted on your progress. 🙂

Was skinny all my life until I had my hysterectomy at 43. No matter what I did, my weight kept going up. This pushed me into body dysmorphia and I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror. I did OrangeT up to 4 times a week and nothing. I just could not lose weight. I could not take Sema, horrible side effects. Took Triz for about 6 months and lost about 11lbs. I stopped taking Triz for several months and a friend told me about Reta. Started Mid Aug and I am now down 50lbs. Reta has worked for me where other GLPs did not. I agree with others, do what works for you! 215 to 165.. I'd like to lose another 20. Not fond of the lose skin either but I feel better in my own skin and my shoulder and joint pains are less. I no longer have to take blood pressure meds and my cholesterol is down.

This christmas was the first time someone took a photo of me that I didn't cringe at seeing myself and actually thought I looked pretty cute for 56 🙂 Good luck and welcome to this forum. Lot of great info and some really nice people too.

Oh yeah, I've been taking that for a while. I can't really say if it is doing anything to prevent or reduce sagging skin but I can say it has eliminated back pain and significantly reduced the pain in my knees. That alone makes it worth taking.

Thank you for all the positivity! You're right about the sema and the skin. I guess at the beginning when the weight is coming off you start over thinking it and I'm probably making excuses about working out. I need to put my big girl panties on that just do it.

Love hearing about your success. I hate having my picture taken right now! The hysterectomy and then the back surgery just packed weight on me. When the doctor scale said 322 I crumpled. Knew I had to do something!

I am 52, and have been overweight since my early 20s. 6 years ago I lost close to 100lbs through low carb and walking. I was still overweight and just could not get below 230 no matter what. I managed to keep it off for 4 years. 2 years ago it started creeping back on. I tried Tirz at Thanksgiving...life changing. So, here I am. SW264, CW250
I am also having trouble getting motivated to exercise. Tirz makes me so tired. I also much prefer to walk around in the woods than on concrete. I am not a gym person...just the thought of working out with people able to watch me freaks me out (yeah, I have other anxiety issues...LOL, Selank arrives tomorrow)

59 years old. Tried Wegovy but was sick as a dog for the entire month. Since I could not afford it, insurance didn't pay, I saw on my local women's FB page about peptides. I bought retail for about a year bit somewhere I saw grey. I'm now buying and saving a lot of money, which is a win for me!
I have a wedding coming up so I started on GHK-CU in hopes of looking better in pictures. It is still too early to know if that is going to work.
I am microdosing Tirz now and happy with my results

GW was 130 but I'm hovering around 126

Bonus points for the reduction in joint pain! I'll keep thinking about it since I have time before it gets to be a need. Mostly worried about my arms. I have really big fat upper arms.

These peptides have been life changing for me too. I have a few ppl in my life using them and they kept saying "food noise" and I just nodded while wondering what the heck they were talking about. Day after the 1st injection I realized exactly what it is. Game changer.

I'm finishing the weg I got a prescription for ($199 a month coupon). I haven't had a lot of side effects except food noise creeping back in but I'm still at a low dose. I couldn't afford it going forward either. I looked at the monthly compound services but that's pretty expensive too. I saw gray mentioned and did a little digging and ended up here. What does your tirz microdosing schedule look like? I'm interested in that since day 6 and 7 for me I find myself really wanting to snack.

52, I was gaining 10 pounds every year after menopause started, or after I started noticing symptoms, then one day I’m at work, and look in the mirror and said “who is that fat bitch!?”
It was a surprise thought, not a put down to myself, but once I saw it, I couldn’t not notice how big I was. I deep dove into things that help women in meno, found glp1s early on, but wanted to rebalance my hormones more than lose weight only. That was the logic anyway. I lost about 15 pounds changing my diet and taking Hrt, added extra progestron, and started taking sublingual sema, though a compounding pharmacy, the food noise was just gone, it was crazy.
Then I found online mainstream grey peptides and went crazy with it.(tirz, Reta, ipa, sermorelin, bpc 157 on and on) Then found grey china peptides. My sleep is good again, energy is back, down 50 pounds, skins skinning, not so many hot flashes, not much sweating, no b.o., really it’s been great. Still no sex drive, but there is something for that too.
The not sleeping was the worst for me, waking up, fully awake 30 minutes after going to bed, and having anxiety about it, waiting for the other unnamed shoe to drop, imaginary shoe. I also ended up with intense itching, mostly in sweating bits, arm pits, back of knees, arm crease area, between boobs, just bacon grease splatter itching pain constantly, driving me crazy day and night. I haven’t heard that being a menopause symptom, but when I hit puberty I got ulcerative colitis, so it tracks, another hormone shift/event could cause body inflammation that intense.
On Dupixant now, klow and added kpv and bpc from time to time. I thought it was blood cancer maybe, and was quuuuuoiiiittte upset (perhaps not the right word here) to have it be diagnosed as eczema.
Just losing weight helped joints, glp1s are honestly amazing, and anyone who wants to try them, should. It sucks how society tries to tell us it’s cheating or going to mush up our bones or whatever weird shit they come up with.

56, I first started out on Ozempic in January 2023, lost 30 lbs after 7 months, then plateaued, and switched to Wegovy, lost another 10 lbs in 3 months before plateauing again, and remained on it for maintenance (I was still obese)… and then my insurance dropped me in March 2025.

I found an online compounding pharmacy and began Tirz, but the cost was a bit upsetting (going from $10/$20 month with insurance to $250 month for the online pharmacy) I started researching better/cheaper pricing options and found out about gray on Reddit. A kind Reddit person invited me to an amazing Discord group in August 2025. And I immediately started a Reta backstock (shortages be damned!) 😆

I decided to wean off Tirz, even though I had 9 months backstock from the online pharmacy because I remembered the difficulty in sourcing Oz back in 2023 (shortages) and didn’t want to risk going with out.

I purchased Reta, and all the things to do it myself (watched a lot of tutorials) and began Reta in October 2025. Hallelujah.

Dec 2022 SW 240

I need to lose 3 more pounds for 29 BMI

In October 2025 I also started Klow. I noticed a difference in my complexion almost immediately (by the third day) my skin looked brighter, more clear, vibrant. After two months I noticed my eyebrows were coming back (I won’t need microbladding anymore) and my eyelashes are thicker/fuller! My hair is filling in and growing out faster (it slowed down, and thinned a bit, since menopause)

The weather is warming up now, so I’ll get back on the fitness schedule/habit. I worked out regularly on Ozempic and Tirz. But when I started Reta over the holidays, I didn’t do anything (not recommending this, just saying) and the weight loss has been the most effortless on Reta, and I am not as fatigued, and I find it easier to eat and get my nutrients in.

Also, I have a better body shape/figure. Maybe that is Reta, or maybe it is because of the overall weight loss? However, from switching from Tirz to Reta, After losing only 5 to 10 pounds, my navel measurement went down by 4-5 inches. Tirz was great with reducing inflammation, but Reta torched my visceral fat and gave me my waist and curves back (without the gym)

I’ve read about microneedling on the body for loose skin, but meh… it is what it is. I’m still overweight and have a ways to go. But I’m satisfied with my progress thus far, even though I’m not a super responder. Snail pace is better than no pace.

I have recently started to follow/join a couple DIY Beauty people/groups. I’m currently looking into Glutathione, Korean Botox, bio stimulators, etc. I’m so thankful to this community and gray. Life changing. 🌱

Hey Beauties!

I love this post and hearing about all the my age-baddies living their best lives! Love my 50s and GLP has a lot to do with that. I started in February 2024, lost 30+lbs, currently on 15mg compounded Tirz. 53, micro-petite 4'8, sober 19 years, HW 143 SW 138 LW 103 CW 108. 22%BF. Post-menopausal. I struggle to workout consistently after work, especially but manage 1-2x cardio, 2-3x strength. I get something like 70g Protein regularly. I want to titrate down, eat more and hopefully have more energy to work out but I am stressed when the scale goes up. I am doing some talk therapy get to the heart of the matter. I also journal and create playlist of songs over the past 50 decades which helps process all the reasons I chose to overeat, over drink, and smoke... I suggest some music therapy-favorite songs from childhood, adolescence, etc and frequent chats with a professional to sort our the noise under the food noise. .I'm here to learn more about GLP-3 so I can continue - my pilgrimage and commune-support with all doing likewise! Thanks for bringing that word pilgrimage feels right to me, too!

I know. I've gotten some cheating comments and some poison comments but I just don't care.

I hear you on the sleep thing. It's so important. I'm struggling a little but nothing like I used to when I was going thru treatments for cervical cancer before the hysterectomy.

I'm glad things are going well for you and look to only get better.

I've been looking at the Klow and Glow. Gonna just keep reading and learning before I pull the trigger on it. I'm in a couple of fb groups and I see ladies in there begging for help with thinning hair and I think about telling them but I don't want to open the gray can of worms and get banned.

I'm at the start of this so I haven't stockpiled much. Got a 10x 30mg tirz kit and a few vials of sema. I figure that will hold me for a while. I couldn't afford the crazy prices of the online compounding places. Plus part of me feels better reconstituting it myself and knowing what it is.

Ugh, I can't even consider the other "noise" right now. Whole other problem lol

I love making playlists! I have a bunch so I can suit my mood. I'm also a wood turner (think bowls on a lathe) and love having exactly the music I want for that moment.

I'll be 50 by the end of the year can I come in? 🌻🌼💐

As the title says I’m looking for input for other ladies over 50 who are on this pilgrimage (not a journey to me, that sounds too easy).

Dang, you nailed it. If I could talk to 38-year-old me that was having symptoms! I think in the past couple of years I just hit a point where my heart finally came around. I've made some great improvements on the stuff I've made it through... yeah life is okay, even good sometimes. I'm clearer on what I value and what I want. And what I love in life. Some self-acceptance too.

~~*~~

At the moment I am feeling... good. Which is weird. My thyroid is in a good place, surgery in August so now meds are settled in. I've been on HRT for ...coming up on 4 years, last 3 including testosterone. It's helped immensely.

~~*~~

On to weight loss ~ I'm the "fat aunt" on my husband's side (they are too kind to call me that) and the "skinny" aunt on my own side. I've had a few "whoa!" seeing that heavy person in the mirror. I've lost height to 5'7" / 170 and lately 196 lb / 89kg. I have high blood pressure which is treated.

@MsGizmo and @miss-sanne have seen me wander in and out the past... 6ish months. I have tried several GLP-1s with mixed results with anhedonia. My (hopefully) final adjustment to thyroid meds and recent drop of snri has made me pause a few weeks, and I'm ready to get going again. : )

Along the way I tried NAD+. It did not negate the flat feelings but did give a nice energy boost.

Tirz seemed easist for me, I have a kit of 30. I am hoping it goes even better with other things in a better place. Will be easing into dosing.

I'm potentially interested in: semax, selank, dihexa.
I'm interested in Klow since I'm wanting to hit my 50th birthday looking and feeling fantastic. Someone called it facelift in a bottle I believe?

My new job has zero tolerance for legal problems so I keep my eyes open for non-crypto vendors. The risk in near-zero but want/need to expand beyond my previous vendor Nexa which is why I bring it up. (Hubby knows what I'm up to, maybe I can convince him to go shopping?)

Cheering you on! : )

So great to hear 🙂 I've heard much good about klow.

I also ended up with intense itching, mostly in sweating bits, arm pits, back of knees, arm crease area, between boobs, just bacon grease splatter itching pain constantly, driving me crazy day and night. I haven’t heard that being a menopause symptom,
Have you tried estrogen cream? My ears will itch and I'll put a small tiny bit on a qtip. But it helps so much, especially with the lady-bits.

I hear you about itching. After 2.5 months of Tirz my torso was covered with scratched itch welts wherever my clothing compressed my skin. Dermatologist didn’t diagnose the cause, but prescribed prednisone which worked miracles…temporarily! Urticaria was due to the ketosis from mobilizing / excreting free fatty acids thru my skin. Have reached GW and reduced my Tirz dose. Now using oral anti-histamine daily.

Omg. Almost identical story. Esp second paragraph. Love walking in the woods. Selank and semax arrived tues.

One Exception I’ almost To G155. (SW 207 CW 158.). I am now trying to figure out a 10 min at home work out I can do. Still in meditating on it. 😆

I Have done Tirz every 5 days. 7.5 mg twice weekly. Went up to 10 mg twice weekly then found that adding Sema at day 5 was the trick for me. I now do Tirz 10 mg weekly, Sema 2 mg once a week and a 2 mg Cagri once a week. Love how I feel. Lots of energy. This is my maintenance. SW 250, CW 140. 70 years old. As far as skin. I am crepey but weight lifting and swimming helped my core and gave me a cute shape. I will never wear tank tops but elbow sleeve is good🌸
