Mine has actually dropped closer to normal when I check in the AM these days.
yes, reta jacked up my resting heart rate ~15bpm. and this was on 4.5mg/week. switched to tirz.
yes it makes it too high.
Question for the three of you:I had three events of tachycardia after light exercise commuting to work. So I stopped.
You're not putting your heart under a lot of stress. You can handle a few extra beats per minute for the few months that it takes to lose the weight. After you get the weight down a bit you can drop your dose down and start playing with other glps, but it's not a rush. 10 extra bpm is not a big deal unless you have some serious issues with your heart.I have been on Reta for 3 months and I went from 58-60 BPM at rest to 71-73 (measured with the Oura ring). I am worried that I'm putting my heart under a lot of stress and considering switching.
Yes, I supplement potassium and mag daily. No affect on RHR and reta.Question for the three of you:
Do you supplement potassium and magnesium daily? What supplements do you take, and do you take any supplements to support your heart specifically?

Thanks! I have a theory that the people who had serious episodes don't supplement potassium and magnesium. The increase to RHR is alarming but should be harmless. My heart rate is at 65, the lowest it's been in years, so once I come off the reta I'll probably be enjoying 50-55bpm!Yes, I supplement potassium and mag daily. No affect on RHR and reta.
Yes, I never had any other cardio issues when I was on reta just the increase in RHR .. about 14-15 bpm on 4.5mg reta every 6 days. Thanks! I used to do a lot of drugs and spent years with my resting heart rate at 70-80bpm... And hours above 200bpm.
My rhr when I was on it for a couple months. About +6 rhr over time. Started at 500mg weekly ended at 2mg weeklyI’ve read in some places online that it can really increase your heart rate a lot, and it can feel uncomfortable. I’m curious about what everyone has noticed.
Honestly, I’m naturally tachycardic, usually around 90–95 bpm during the day, sometimes even higher. I did notice my resting HR at night was a little higher than usual, but probably not by more than 5 bpm, since my normal resting HR is around the low 70sI’ve read in some places online that it can really increase your heart rate a lot, and it can feel uncomfortable. Sleep resting up by 6-7 vs before.I’ve read in some places online that it can really increase your heart rate a lot, and it can feel uncomfortable. I’m curious about what everyone has noticed.
I’m having a hard time sleeping as well. Magnesium isn’t working for me.Im up about 8 or 9 bpm, and sweatier, too. I get about 6 hours sleep a night with no choice to sleep longer. 6 doses in currently @1.5mg
I have read, from multiple people, to eat some carbs before going to bed helped them sleep longer or restored their normal sleep time. I tried that and I didn't have any better sleep. I just had a 6 hour and 14 minute sleep time. For me, my sleep was jacked up for over two months. Recalling the recent past, the shorter sleep duration didn't really slow me down throughout the day. I am somehow getting back to what I think is normal. I'm losing weight consistently at a slow rate. I do think that "normal" is just a word as my physical transformation will change things. My body appears to be smarter than I am, but I still keep an eye out and note concerns.I’m having a hard time sleeping as well. Magnesium isn’t working for me.
It doesn't. I'm at 25 weeks on 9 mg. In bed at 8 normally, sleep good till about 1-1:30, then toss and turn. Finally get up 4-4:30. In bed by 8 because I have always got up early when I was working. Retired now 2 years.I’m only on week 6 so hopefully it gets better. I average around 6hrs now. I wanna get to at least 7-8hrs. But Im 50 so that might also play a role plus stress from work doesn’t help.
You must have taken the numbers from my book. Time frame heart rate and BP are all about the sameMy resting heart rate was 65 before glp1s. It went up to 72 for a while on Reta. 3.5 months in, it came back down to 67. However, my blood pressure went from 150/89 to 128/77.
