I agree with “life is a journey” and also that “<fill in the blank> journey” can be a hackneyed term that results in eye rolling and sighs.
After a year on tirz and 90+ pounds shed, I am confident that my “weight loss journey” has concluded, and the journey continues but with a different adjective. As I transition to a maintenance phase, I cannot describe the feelings of liberation, joy and hope for the future. What I’m realizing is that the fixation on weight can finally take a back seat to bigger picture life goals. Your world suddenly becomes much larger and you develop an expanded sense of self in relation to the world beyond food and the scale. Awesome.
