I bought my first Tirz kit (60mg 10 vials kit). I thought it was better to reconstitute 60mg at once so that I would have a three-month supply in one vial.

My question is, is it safe to keep the 60mg vial in the fridge for three months, noting that I will be extracting the reconstituted Tirz from the vial once a week for three months?

I apologize if that question was asked before. I searched but didn't find an answer. I should have thought about it before buying, but I got excited to start my journey and thought going bigger was better.

What's your current dose? Also, some say 3 months for recon'd tirz is too long. If you have a weight loss partner, and you are splitting it, then you're good.

The logest refrigerated BUD I have seen is 2 months. Remember that light and changes in temp degrade your peps. Every time it goes in and out of the fridge you're exposing your vial to both.

Thanks for the reply. I just started with 2.5mg. So, the plan is to use the 60mg vial for three months as follows:
  • 2.5mg (1mL) each week for weeks 1 to 4
  • 5mg (2mL) each week for weeks 5 to 8
  • 7.5mg (3mL) each week for weeks 9 to 12
It seems that I am good for two months at least.

I'd agree, but I'd also like to share my own experience.

I've been on tirz for three months. The first 2 at 2.5mg, this third i have switched to 2.5 every 4 days. It has kept the food noise at vsy better than the weekly dosing Eli Lilly puts out.

I say this because you may find a balance that works for you along the way where you don't need to titrate up too quickly. The best thing you can do is find the lowest effective dose for you and stay on it as long as it works. Keep your tolerance low so that you can take the training wheels off at some point.

Also, read up in here. There's grateful info on multiple other peps that you can tie into the journey. We have some great mixologists/amateur biochemists that have found some cocktails which will elevate the experience for you.

Chiming in with a few others, that vial cost you a week or 2 worth of compound, you are definitely ahead on cost after a few weeks. With that said, I would not let the cost be a driving factor on titration or continued use.
In other words, as has been mentioned before here, don't bump up because you need to use it if you are getting results, and don't hesitate discarding some unused portion, if you feel uncomfortable with how long you have been pinning.

12 weeks is definitely longer than many would be comfortable with for reasons of degradation, and potential bacterial growth. I suppose if you had to you could re-filter after a certain period of time. but your cost return on that would be minimal and discarding would likely be the better choice if you felt it needed filtration.

Many people on these forums consider three months to be the outer limit for refrigerated reconstituted peptides, assuming you alcohol-swab the vial before each draw, and get it back in the fridge quickly (within 1 minute can be doable, with little temperature change).

I plan around 3 months of refrigeration (not as a mistake or workaround), and furthermore plan to freeze my reconstituted tirz vials for up to many many months before moving each to the fridge for a 3-month usage period

Although perhaps *most* folks who are starting out with plans to follow the Lilly protocol do *not* jump into 60 mg kits, lol, I myself would not worry.

Been doing this a pretty long time, and I wouldn't think you'd have to throw *anything* out -- as long as you were being reasonably careful.

In my experience, the worst thing that would happen is that, by the time you reach the last of the vial, it's lost a wee tiny bit of efficacy.

As a matter of clarification:
I would not worry at all about storing the vials, I have a significant amount in long term storage.
I would only be concerned about any possible push to finish the first one in 12 weeks if you are titrating just to hit a timeline.
I would have some, but less, concern about pinning from the same vial for 12 weeks.

But I agree with Garbo, the concerns are minimal for the other 9 vials.

I think your mL measurements may be off, unless you have a 24ml vial kicking around. 60mg with 3ml BAC:

12-13 units = 2.5mg
25 units = 5mg
37-38 units = 7.5mg

You could also split into two vials so that you are not handling/puncturing the entire vial every week. It's controversial, but another option is to put half in a separate vial and throw it in the freezer.

Your other choice is to buy a 30mg kit and save the 60mg kit for when you are on a higher dose.

Yes! There seems to be some urge to dilute beyond what's needed to dissolve, or to fill the vial up.

~1mL of bac water PER 3mL VIAL OF ANY MASS (adjusted up or down per reverse calculator and target # of units to match number indications on syringe) does the trick. Lots of headroom in the vial is not an issue.

And academically speaking, too much water can cause pain and possibly tissue damage. Although 1.5mL is where this starts to happen, per https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6822791/

Thank you! It is a good idea about splitting.

There are different opinions, but some comments about compund pharmacies practices caught my eye:

"Fifty 410 and many other providers also send 1 60mg vial for the 3 month starter pack. It’s very common"

"I got a three month starter supply through Orderly and received one vial of 60 mg."

"My pharmacy (not Orderly) told me 90 days. I'm not throwing away Tirz unless I have actual reason to believe something is wrong with it."

"I had a 3 month starter vial from Amble..."

"My provider sends a 16 week supply per vial, I don’t think she’s had any issues. I closely watched my friend use Triz through this provider for many many months before I went to her. (I was over cautious, and wanted to see proof that it worked)"

*Excellent* information, and I'm sure reassuring to many people. Thank you!

If I said: I had some undercooked chicken left out overnight and ate it for breakfast, I was fine.
That would be considered anecdotal experience. Your results could definitely be different.

Not to say that those posts on reddit are nonsense, but.. I would recommend being wary of any anecdotal evidence and make your own choices based on the science.

Something I often try to describe is that a petri dish will only grow the bacteria it was exposed to, if you are growing bacteria it has to be present. If it was never present, it will not grow.
Take this all with a grain of salt.

Again, not saying 12 weeks is beyond the possibility, just hoping others don't see this and disregard basic safety precautions etc. Also there are those on this forum that never hit more than 5mg. So now you have a vial that could last 4+ months.
