Are all the vendors listed in the vendor section authenticated in some way?

Along with their contact numbers?

Apologies if this is known, trying to sort out a possible scam.

They are not authenticated at all. However, if they have scammed anyone here, there is likely to be a post about it.

Your best bet is to click on the magnifying glass above and search for the vendor name to see what people are saying about them.

What makes you think it maybe a scami

I do not know that, but I spent hours pinning down coas and ordering info and instructions for crypto with a person who seemed real but another supposed agent said was a scammer. The thing is that on TG if you ask for help on the chat they DM you, already bad, but on TG I cannot start chats, per the bot, it thinks I’m a scammer somehow.
Then the second person just stated they themselves were real, without really trying to prove it. And everyone’s info page is a mix of real and fake. This one maybe subbed 0 for o somewhere.
I would like an independent fact like seeing their phone number or someone having gotten something from them using a contact method they can share. After all, scamming is a real job and they can work together

This board doesn’t have much info, but the TG chat seems to have people who’ve ordered. Maybe they’re all fake who the hell knows? My TG acct is screwed up somehow so maybe I can’t use that adequately

The thing about buying grey is, you can be scammed at anytime, even by reputable vendors. So, never spend more than you are willing to lose. And NEVER buy from someone who contacts you first. The best you can do is read as much as possible about any vendors you are considering.

Yup. Trying to do that, gotta have some data! Hoping more experienced and trusted folks here have specific info or suggestions..

The contact you first thing is a little ambiguous. I can msg any of the contact numbers posted, and then they contact me?

Got any tips where to look for even the basic things about WBS?

Or heck, has anyone ordered recently and will share a real contact that worked at that time at least?

Everytime i contact any vendor i just use the number they provide here in the forums or in their own whatsapp and/or telegramm groups and/or discord groups.
The answer is then in the same chat you openend so that you cant get scammed. At least not by an impersonator.
I just write what i want to buy, share my adress and so on and tell them how i want to pay.
the rest is coming together by itself.

In addition @Labcat ; There is a separate section with some vendors that are no longer supporting the site but I know for a fact are still "active". Its very much a buyer beware sort of deal.

My process has pretty much been look for the bigger names that also have been around a long time. And I've only made two purchases thus far. First was from Nexa and second from Amo/Bff/Binh.

Now that I'm looking at the 3 letter guys it gets a bit trickier. I tried to go through all the vendors by age on the forums just to sort of get a smaller list but the fact that you have to kind of go through the archive vendors as well makes it tricky. Then try to cross check that with experience here but also testing results on Jano (and to a lesser extent Finnrick).

But now I'm starting to think that w/ the 3 letter boys history isn't necessarily a great metric. Recent results matter more. So look at ones where there are large amounts of testing going on. One of our members has been activiely testing/setting up testing for JEEP with positive results.

Make sure their contact information is exactly the same as what's listed on this site. Imposters use account names and numbers very close to the genuine vendors.
Yep.
Wondering whether the listings on this site all have real numbers to begin with? Maybe not eh? How could anyone tell.
“Vendors” who initiate contact are likely scammers. Reputable vendors will not contact you unsolicited.
Yes. I want to warn that WBS links to their TG forum but their system to send requested COAs via DM - confuses this because it messes with this rule. (Like how my bank actually does text me, exactly like they never should). Or maybe that’s always spammers too and they allow it. Then they days replying anyway and someone else spoofed their account using the same pics and nearly the same spelling (extra dot that was supposedly a verified symbol, and o instead of 0 in account name, I noticed when I got suspicious today ) contacted me and answered a lot of questions.
Maybe it’s not everyone but my TG account cannot initiate DMs there, which contributes to the problem. The TG bot told me it’s to reduce scammers. What a waste of my time to have gone there to begin with. Lesson learned.

I use the info listed in the vendor connection on this site. I am not sure how hard it would be to get fake contacts in there but I bet it might be possible. I once made a vendor on discord from QYC respond to me on this site just to make sure they were legit.

I think the numbers might be real, if they haven’t somehow acquired some of those numbers in theoigh the business itself closing or letting go of the contact. But I think some of the linkouts to places like TG where they wait for you to ask for help on the chat and then are slow to respond and also say ‘I’ll DM you… can be spoofed by impersonators .

That’s a good idea to make them respond here, do they have verified usernames here
I also had a thought that if we share vendor wallet IDs that were legit, we can help each other verify them, that’s something the scammers are always eager to share
