I am seeing that most of the vendors only accept Janoshik test results for refunds/reships. Fair enough, they have a great reputation and have been around forever.

So that kind of begs the question on why people go any where else? It cant be to save money, cause if it is a bad batch, you then have to go through jano anyways to get a reship.

What am I missing?

I would say Nothing, unless it is for peace of mind and lower cost sending elsewhere.

Several vendors have started accepting other lab results. You or GBOs just have to check with them first. In fact, I don’t remember who it was but one of them said they’d only accept Freedom results now.

But to answer your question about why some groups are using other labs now, there are a few answers:
1) Speed - Not having to ship vials to the Czech Republic and then wait for Jano to run them gets the results back faster. (Like BNLFL said, Jano is very backed up these days.)
2) Customs - A lot of samples have been seized heading to Jano lately.
3) Cost - Many of the domestic labs are cheaper on the analytical cost itself, and even more so when you factor in domestic shipping versus international shipping, it adds up.
4) Some are just annoyed with Jano - Uther got annoyed about the way copper content was displayed. Some are annoyed about the data breaches. Some are annoyed that their samples fall into a black hole at times. Some are annoyed by how they manage their emails with random people handling whatever is in the inbox rather than following an order all the way through the process with a single person.

Even for vendors who still only accept Jano results, what I’ve seen lately is people sending samples to a domestic lab and then if those results come back bad, then the follow up by sending samples to Jano to confirm and meet the requirements for the vendor guarantee. More times than not, the samples pass and then they’ve gotten the results back faster and been able to ship product out to their buyers faster so they can move on to the next organized buy.

There are a great number of group buys happening out there, where they can negotiate with the suppliers the test results that will be acceptable. Maybe that's where the demand for alternatives comes from. That and people who just want to get their gear tested.

I use Jano, and have not had problems with customs. This last package I sent was 4 days total from my drop off on the US west coast to being received by Jano. 4 days isnt bad at all. sent UPS

they are taking longer to do the testing though, but I have time.

also, I wasnt aware of the data breaches, that is concerning
