Hi everyone,

Don't mind mind super simplified title, I have a complex set of GI issues (before taking tirz) and I am looking for some others experience and guidance and suggestions 🙂

I have had GERDS for almost 2 decades, believe it's been caused/made worse by a large hiatal hernia just above the junction of my esophagus and stomach. In my younger years, I would just take Omeprazole, and not adjust any of my habits, but for the last five or six years, I have been more interested in changing my behaviors around eating to help assist my body the best I can. I also have no gallbladder, had emergency removal about 3 years ago, then I subsequently developed Diverticulosis. Needless to say, my stomach and digestion is trashed. I have a myriad of things I do, and have done to minimize the impact and assist when I sleep because that is the worst time for me. I will get sick in the middle of the night, vomit, and not be able to settle my stomach back down for a while. I take a max dose of Omeprazole, I add a Famotidine dose (mainly for PMS/PMDD relief), I use baking soda for quick relief and Gaviscon when I lay down. I do not eat before bedtime. I stop about 3/4 hours before bed, and this was all working until this last week.

Diet is 80% clean, I cook almost all my meals at home and I stay away from fast food. I eat low fat, high fiber, high protein, very little red meats (they don't sit well) almost no prepackaged foods (again, they never sit well in my stomach) & I am very focused on micros, including probiotics. I eat yogurt daily, and take ox bile once a day and I am on my 4th week of 7.5mg shot (for reference) I plan to titrate up Saturday....

I know the GLP causes delayed gastric emptying, and I have made adjustments to my eating cause of it, but its not enough or I am missing something.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and been successfully able to reduce gastric disruption by changing awake habits?
Has anyone used BPC to reverse/help a bad tummy successfully?
Any help, guidance or anything...even if its seemingly small, I'll take it!

**I do realize my issues are complex, but they have been well managed before, & I trust there is a solution that is lifestyle based....I'd really like to stop all the heartburn meds or lower them without suffering

I have really bad GI issues with Tirz. I had zero GI issues before starting Tirz.

I was so sick, even on 2.5mg for 4 weeks, I had to lower the dose to 1.5 and I still have GI issues at 7 weeks. But they are less. So the only thing that worked for me is lowering my dose and time. I also take oral BPC-157 and even that does not help. Before Tirz, BPC-157 had my digestive system working about as perfect as could be hoped for.

For really bad reflux, Famotidine and some capsules I bought named Khlep (Sodium Alginate) helps some. Temporarily.

Good luck, for me, nothing except taking a baby dose and passing of time on Tirz really helps. I've pretty much decided that the constipation on Tirz will never completely go away until I get off it.

It's the GLP-1 slowing of gastric emptying. Humans are not Gila monsters and food setting in your gut for 2 days is totally unnatural for humans.

Yeah, I absolutely agree about the food sitting in our stomachs. I have had all my issues pre-tirz. I have responded well to the GLP with no side effects. I use the Sodium Alginate too (Gaviscon) and it was saving my life when my meal timing was off....Thanks so much for your response 🙂

I use Miralax almost daily, which may help you? I don't have any history of constipation, but the Miralax helps things move more smoothly imo, a total lifesaver for me cause it doesn't cause any gastric upset or pain, it just works...
