Hello all,

Here's my story. I have been obese for as long as I can remember, I eat my feelings and had terrible parents, so I was a fat kid. No amount of diet or exercise really worked. I was on Wegovy back during the shortages, did the 0.25mg and 0.5mg. When it was time to go up to the 1.0mg, there was none available and my insurance refused to pay for more 0.5mg. However, 1.7mg was available, so the insurance sent me that. Within a few hours of that injection, I was feeling sick and throwing up everything. Took me days to feel a bit normal again.

I took a break from the meds and then got on Zepbound. Did the 2.5mg and 5mg. Went from ~230lb to ~190lb over several months, but started to have bad side effects, including throwing up. Took a few months off around the holidays, and went back up to ~220lb. Now I am back on the Zepbound 5mg and it just isn't working. I get nausea before the injection from some kind of nervous response, but barely any appetite suppression and no weight loss. I could go up to 10mg with insurance, but it seems pointless to keep taking the Zepbound when there's better meds available.

Hope you're all having good days and great success.

Welcome! Sucks you’ve had such a tough go of it. Hopefully as you read and discuss here you will see that you have many options.😊
( Tirz, Reta, Survo, Cagri, and more. )

Also being able to control your dose might leave you better off as well. Micro dosing helps some folks avoid nasty side effects. Sometimes stacking 2 different peps at lower doses works great too.

Welcome. Not sure how to get you less nervous pre injection. Fear of needles? of feeling sick?

I was prescribed Ondansetron 4mg at the beginning of Tirz. for nausea. Did not have to use it but came close many times. I prefer Tums (and I get my calcium). I know someone who throws up for 24hrs after each Sema shot, but he is loosing weight. Look at the Eli Lilly Surmount studies. Plenty of folks feel so sick, like you, they quit.

I would avoid stop and go. Gaining all the weight back, after suffering so much, must be excruciating.

Search the forum for older posts. Try lower dosage or take 2 half dose during a week, microdosing. I would stay on your current Tirz. 5mg, be patient, and wait weeks. Some folks do not loose weight for a few months. Be patient. Remember that both Novo and E.L. recommend to stay 4 weeks at the same dosage, to adapt, but you may need longer. Some folks report loosing most of their weight on 5 mg only. Don't give up.
