Lilly Acquires Global Rights To Hanmi's Sonefpeglutide

Among other things, "Hanmi said it entered a licensing agreement with Lilly covering the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of sonefpeglutide, a biologic drug candidate based on its proprietary LAPSCOVERY long-acting technology platform."
Maybe I’m completely off base here, but doesn’t this treat “slow emptying bowel” rather than acting as a weight loss or diabetes management drug?

It's actually for short bowel syndrome. Sounds horrible.

SBS is a rare condition defined by the loss of more than 60% of the small intestine due to congenital or other causes. It affects around 24.5 out of every 100,000 newborns globally, according to Hanmi, and can also affect adults who have had surgeries to resolve inflammatory bowel disease, tumors or other issues.

However, Hanmi and EL call it a GLP1. It's a once a month shot that I'm gonna guess will appeal to people scared of needles.
