I just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention. The vendor LJ has been spamming their TG links all over various vendor servers. I caught them in this, brought it up in their forum post and they claim that they hired a third party marketing service to market them. When I confronted the person doing this, he threatened my life, telling me that in the next 6 months, a major disaster will happen in my life and some BS about Taoism. He blocked me and deleted the chat, so I don't have pictures of this.

I was very surprised to learn that this was them through a 3rd party service. Extremely unprofessional. And the death threat was interesting to say the least. I hope @Naomi does something about that.

Their response to it.

Regarding the above situation, our company has verified the following: First, the posting of promotional links in other groups was the individual action of a third-party promoter, and our company was unaware of it. Second, communication with the promoter confirmed that they did not post any statements threatening the lives of others. Third, we sincerely apologize for the negative impact caused by this incident; our company has terminated its cooperation with them and will strengthen management in the future.

To which I responded back with:

Your second statement is pure bullshit. I'm sorry but it's true. They're clearly lying. He specifically stated something about Taoism, posted a picture of some Chinese symbol, then said how in the next 6 months, a major disaster will happen in my life. Finally stating "Day 1" as his last message before blocking me and deleting both our messages so I can't screenshot it.

I do not appreciate being threatened by anyone, let alone someone who is employed by you. If you don't consider that a threat, please tell me what is.

That ends the drama, but I'm still not pleased overall.

I get being annoyed at a vendor's marketing tactics, especially in this situation, but why be so antagonistic right out of the gate, and then double-down with even more unpleasantness after the vendor replied with what seems like a plausible explanation and saying they were looking into it?

Accepting your characterization that whomever you were chatting with threatened your life, if it was indeed some kind of contractor that the vendor hired I can't imagine that threatening people over the internet is something that any company would ever expect a marketing firm to do. And if/when a rogue whacko working for a marketing firm is doing such things, I don't find it surprising that they would deny it if asked. Expecting a vendor (or anyone else) to know who is telling the truth seems a little unreasonable (and that's without taking cultural and language differences/difficulties into account).

We deal with dozens of attempts at spam posting and similar BS here every day by various vendors and their reps, and don't get into this kind of antagonistic back-and-forth with them, even when they are relentlessly persistent and keep re-registering and trying every way imaginable to sneak in and post their crap.

Bottom line is, this isn't Meso-Rx, and while I appreciate your vigilance in keeping vendors honest, I'd prefer if everyone dialed things down several notches in the future.
