Does anyone know what the dosage would be? 40mg daily? Or less if pinning it?
Yea I saw that after. but nobody has it for injection & the suppliers in china don't yet have the injectable. they are missing out on big $$$ though. so many of us with a genetic predisposition to high LDL would go on it right away! It's a PCSK9 inhibitor and you wouldn't pin it. This is the oral version of the injectable that's already available. The injectable is crazy expensive, so this would be a huge win for both convenience and cost.
In phase 2 studies they tested these dosages: 6, 12, 18, or 30 mg once daily. All showed clinically meaningful reductions of LDL-C and ApoB w/ >55% placebo-adjusted reduction observed at doses of 12 mg and higher. MK-0616 was well tolerated and there were no overall trends in AEs across treatment groups
They're in phase 3 now, targeting a 20mg dose.
Yeah, evolocumab is by far the most effective drug I've tried for lipid control. About 30% and 50% reduction in LDL and Triglycerides switching from statin. But it's costly even with good insurance and it's a royal pain getting reapproved every year because insurers suck.Yea I saw that after. but nobody has it for injection & the suppliers in china don't yet have the injectable. they are missing out on big $$$ though. so many of us with a genetic predisposition to high LDL would go on it right away!
