I was debating whether to write this in Spanish since Global66 is super popular in countries like Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, etc. But honestly, pretty much anyone from any country can set up an account, so I figured I’d share it here so everyone knows it’s an option.

Hey hey! Just wanted to share how my first purchase went using crypto (USDC) through Global66. If you’re new to this or on the fence about moving away from traditional payment methods, hopefully this helps take away some of the stress.

At first, I looked into the usual routes: traditional international bank wires or platforms like Wise. But for sending USD to places like Hong Kong, the fees were hitting around $15-20. After digging around a bit, I realized Global66 actually lets you send crypto. I’ve been using them for years to transfer money to my bank account abroad with zero issues, so I decided to give it a shot. The total transfer fee ended up being only about $5. Huge difference for me.
The whole process was completely smooth, instant, and honestly, just as easy as making a regular bank transfer to an overseas account.

How I did it:

1. Double-check the wallet type: Before you move any money, you need to ask your source/vendor if they accept payments from custodial wallets. Platforms like Global66 operate this way, so confirming this first saves you from any bounced funds.
2. Do a small safety test: If it’s your first time or you just want to be 100% sure the wallet address is correct, it's a great idea to ask your source if you can send a tiny test amount first. I sent $10 just to make sure everything went through properly.
3. Send the transaction hash: Right after you send the funds, your source will ask for the transaction hash (the digital receipt on the blockchain). Because Global66 processes everything instantly, you can find this code right away in the transaction details inside the app, just copy and paste.
4. Send the rest: Once your source confirms they got the $10 test amount, you can send the remaining balance with total peace of mind.

I think that if you’re completely new to crypto and don't want to deal with setting up complicated (it feels like it when you're new ahah) accounts on major crypto exchanges, Global66 is a great shortcut. It’s fast, and cheaper than traditional banks.

Hope this helps!

awesome! you said the transfer fee was $5, do you know if that's a flat rate? or is it a percentage? this is my first time hearing of Global66.

I just checked, I paid $5 for the transfer fee because I sent/paid with chilean pesos, and they dealt with all the conversion process ahah, buuuut if you pay with USD, the transfer fee for sending 100 USDC or USDT is 50 cents, 1000 USDC or USDT is $5 🙂
I’ve always used it to send euros to myself, but now I’m impressed at how easy it was to send crypto

Just remember that (as with all prominent commercial businesses involved in crypto) they most likely monitor transfers to legally questionable entities and might well freeze then cancel your entire account, permanently locking you out of any future account-creation.

That's why your next-to-last step before sending payment to the vendor should always be transferring funds to a non-custodial wallet like Exodus.

The convenience isn't worth the risk.
