I Just Joined!
Hello everyone, I want to introduce myself. Here is a little behind the scenes. I just turned 50. I started my weight loss journey 3 years ago by having gastric bypass surgery. I had gained a lot of weight quickly, and after many scans and no one able to figure out why I turned to bypass. I was able to lose 120 pounds. Not goal weight but so happy. Then, I finally found the right doctor who discovered I have cushions disease do to masses on my adrenal glands. While finding out weighs to battle this my husband of 5 years fell ill and was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. This has been a ruff year and I put back on some weight from sitting in hospitals and not getting exercise along with stress. My doctor started me on a GLP-1 to help back in January. I started on Semaglutide but the side effects mixed with my cushions was too much on me so we changed to Tirzepatide. I lose maybe a pound every 1-2 weeks. I just resigned from my job to take care of my husband. He has now passed the one year marker that doctors originally gave him and even had the Whipple procedure. This is a blessing every day. On my end I have had to now give up my medication because even though it’s a compound it’s still no longer in our financial range. His medical will always come first. Then I came across all of you. I’ve been reading and learning and hope to start a new journey through the guidance of researching through all this wonderful information. Me being at a good weight will help me continue to physically take care of him… and my mom who has just been diagnosed with dementia, and my most precious gifts of all, which are my daughters. Things work in mysterious ways. I look at it as though me now being home gives me time to spend with my loved ones and time to research to continue to make me healthier and stronger.
