I struggle to sleep more than 5 hours at a stretch and haven't noticed any major changes at 3 weeks in but I'm hopeful.
I haven't noticed sleep benefits I attribute to Reta, but I am sleeping longer/better with the addition of 360mg of supplemental magnesium.
I take magnesium glycinate an ~hour before getting in bed.I've been chewing a 250mg magnesium citrate gummy in the morning, is that in the ballpark?

Magnesium citrate is usually for constipation.
"Anti-Constipation Relief" sounds like you need Imodium 🤣
Well said, I lost 4 the first week. Basically stayed the same 2 and 3 and then week 4 lost another. 4 pounds 4 weeks. I'm happy. This week I notice that my food noise came back earlier in the week. Next week I'm going to jump to 1mg.I started with tirz and my sleep definitely improved. I've now experienced the same on reta. I just wanted to mention to remember that it's not a race to lose the weight, and 5 lbs. per week is extreme (after your initial water shed). Be careful not to overdo it and remember to eat and prioritize protein, electrolytes, and hydration. Otherwise, sounds like you are doing great!
Thank you, you caught his error. This makes more sense for minimizing the peaks and troughs. I had to run it through the plotter so I could visualize it. 😆Watching that, he compares 2mg/week to .1mg/day. I'm still working my way through it, but he seems to be conflating micro dosing and split dosing.
He compares 2mg/week to .7mg/week, and says it "kinda sounds like you might be getting close to the same amount, right? Wrong." Who thinks that .7mg/week sounds the same as 2mg/week?
I don't know where he gets 2mg/week creates a "consistent amount in your system, about 3.6mg on average". It peaks at 3.6mg, troughs at 1.6mg, and averages 2.5mg.
Using what I think is his math (bolus, all instantly available vs a 24 hour absorption window, for example):
-If you take the 1mg twice a week, you end up with a peak of 3mg, trough of 2mg, and average of 2.5mg.
-If you take .285mg daily, the peak is 2.62mg, trough is 2.33mg, and the average is still 2.5mg.
-If you take 4mg every other week, the peak is 5mg, the trough is 1mg, and the average is still 2.5mg.
I agree that you need a minimum effective dose and half lives stack. Taking the same amount per week, split into multiple injections raises troughs and suppresses peaks, creating a tighter band of exposure/signaling (less variability).
Average amount is relatively irrelevant, otherwise we could take a dose once every 4 weeks (for example) and radically reduce the pin cushion effect. The problem with this is the symptoms would likely be massive, receptors could be blunted, and the adjustment window is very coarse. The way I think about it is peaks trigger symptoms and troughs need to be high enough to be therapeutically effective. Split dosing can reduce symptoms and keep the floor high enough to work.

We're on week 4 of .5mg of Reta and have comfortably lost around 2 lbs a week with low sides but appetite increases around day 4 post injection. At this point my plan is when we increase to go to a twice a week dose of .5 for the gentler ride.

I'm obviously no expert but I am in the same boat, I was thinking of going up on a biweekly basis to cut the food noise. I'm down 9 lbs 3 days into week 4.Latest weigh in ( this morning) has me at 212 down 7 pounds. Felt the food noise early in the week, didn't give in and saw the biggest drop in weight this week. Was going from .5 to 1 when I pin later tonight but really debating staying at .5 since it's obviously still working. Anyone see a reason to jump to 1 ??
I started at 1 mg and just began week 5. I’m still losing weight at this dose, so I don’t see any reason to move up until it stops working for me. I also feel that losing a lot of weight too fast can lead to extra skin, so going slow works better for me.Latest weigh in ( this morning) has me at 212 down 7 pounds. Great work man. Similar results here, I've been at .5mg every 5 days for a month and I'm down 13lbs from 218 to 205. My Hume scale app is showing 7 weeks even though my first weigh in was 1/11 but I digress lol.
FYI for people just starting to follow my first 5 weeks were .5 and went to .75 for 6 and 7Weekly update... .75 mg for the 2nd week in a row. Totally forgot to weigh myself yesterday due to being super busy. At this point #s are nice but I notice how I feel and how my clothes fit so much better. People have made comments at work so I know it's working. Slow and steady. Ate slightly unhealthy this weekend and probably had too many drinks but a guys gotta live right ? For me it isn't some magic overnight pill but a tool that's helping me on this journey. As always open for any questions/comments.
I went to .5mg 2X a week w/ a 3 day off set on week 5. This got rid of the hunger and appetite issues I was experiencing at the end of the 7 day cycle. Added another fiber pill to my routine,FYI for people just starting to follow my first 5 weeks were .5 and went to .75 for 6 and 7
