A year ago, I used Hims & Contrave telehealth to obtain oral weight loss kits. As a result, I now have a stockpile of bupropion, naltrexone, topiramate and metformin pills which I have never used. I was enlightened to the wonders of peptide research around the same time, and I never used the pills.

Is anyone currently supplementing their peptide research with these products? I am curious about which might be the most effective in combination with tirz or reta. I suspect that stacking peptides is going to be the more effective therapy. But since I have a 5-month supply of these pills, I may give them a try as well.

Bupropion + naltrexone = contrave, which is a weight loss medication. I do not know how well it plays with peptides, but it is an actual medication.

I came into a grip of metformin from a family member and started taking it for its supposed other benefits, bc why not? Lol Idk that it’s having any effect on weight loss/appetite suppression though. I will say that of the ones you listed, it’s the most benign. Bupropion (Wellbutrin) can have some nasty side effects.

Everything they say about dopamax is true. Topimax... I hated it. Very short lived. I took it for migraines, though.

How much do you take?

Right now I take 1,000mg/day (500mg am/pm), but had to work up to that. I think 1/2 a pill a day for a week or more, then 1, etc. The heartburn/acid reflux at the beginning was nuts if I took it too close to a meal.
Is it making a difference?

For weight loss and appetite suppression? Idk, maybe a bit? Definitely not in anyway that could replace the glp-1s for me. As for all of the other touted benefits, maybe I’ll see with my next set of complete set of labs.

Thanks! LMK... I have it and I am interested.

I don't have labs again until February with my BHRT workup. I am grateful insurance is paying for them 2x a year.

I had heard that naltrexone was good for cravings and some appetite suppression. Topamax supposedly makes you stupid. I am currently stacking sema with tirz and it's working, so no hurry to try anything else.

I took Contrave for a while. I had previously taken Wellbutrin years prior for anxiety, and it made me suicidal. Since 8 years had passed, when my doctor recommended I try Contrave, I decided to try it again. Nope - still suicidal AND it did absolutely nothing for me. Worst medication I've ever been on. Thank goodness for glp1s.

Agreed. I love the fact that we have access to glp-1 now. My understanding is that the bupropion (Wellbutrin) can affect people in vastly different ways. It seems that most people have to use trial and error to find the right antidepressant. So yeah, I think I'll pass on the bupropion, even if it does result in weight loss.

Bupropion has been wildly helpful for me, personally. It can be used for ADHD if you can't take stimulants. I went on it to quit nicotine; didn't work, but it actually has helped some of my ADHD/depression issues.

Keep in mind that even psychs basically have no idea how these things work. We know which receptors things work on etc, so there's a general idea of how they work, but results are often unpredictable.

Yes. Naltexone is what they use to treat alcohol and drug abuse.

What are your dosages with sema and tirz? I am trying and I really don't think this is going to work. I am at 1.5mg sema on Sunday and 5mg tirz on Weds. We may be getting ready to add Cagri to the mix....
