Please help me get over my pen stress

Mostly boils down to a bit of convenience.
  1. You don't have to draw every time. Instead, you attach a needle, dial the units and inject.
  2. You do have to fill up the cartridge once per vial. But if you are filtering, you are doing this anyways. You just dispense into the cartridge instead of a sterile vial.
  3. You can argue that it is easier to travel with a pen. Just fewer things to carry.
But if injecting from a vial is second nature to you, it may not be that much of a win. For me personally, I like it. So, far.

Would love to hear other perspectives.

I thought pens were dumb til I tried one. The three things I like most about them are that it's one object rather than two to fiddle with, there is no air in it on day one or week six, and it doesn't get progressively more difficult to draw my dose at the end (as opposed to a vial, where you have to get the needle shallower and shallower from the stopper to get liquid instead of air.)

I don't mind the 'normal' way but for me it's the convenience to bring a pen when I travel to my cottage and not have to bring the whole pharmacy with me. As well as I'm a huge nerd and love all the accessories and gadgets 😂 I also have a friend that takes a whole bunch of different peps and he says he likes just having a different pen for each.

I too decided at first to skip them because I felt it was too complicated so I understand how you're feeling about them. My suggestion is just look at some YouTube clips and you'll see it's really quite simple. That's what I did and after a few videos I ordered a while bunch of different pens after asking some friends about tips on which to buy. I can't send links here unfortunately because I'm a noob.

I was originally a staunch auto-pen proponent, but I've found that they are slow with a fine needle, and need a bit of manual help.
I've gone back to manual pens, where I supply the 'push'.

The defining pen difference for me was the fresh needle every time, never even been forced through a rubber stopper once.

1: Smaller needle (4mm @33G)

2: It’s ready to go each time - No grabbing a vial and syringe to draw it.

3: (Big one for me) You have sharper needles with a pen. Example - with a vial and syringe you have to draw it out of the vial (one dulling moment) then you need to inject it (second dulling) OR if you have a stinging pep you need to add more bac water to dilute it (Third dulling) So once you do inject… its hurts a lot more…. And with a wife that hates needles already a fresh sharp needle on a pen it a life saver.

4: You can filter the pep before putting into the 3ml pen vial.

5: If you have a vial that requires a lot of bac water but the vial isn’t large enough. With a pen you can simply use as many 3ml pen vials as you need and refrigerate.

6:Travel (if needed) You don’t necessarily look like an addict 🤣

7: Cool factor 😁🤣

I agree with all of you!

My preferences however:
I use longer and thicker pen needles, 8mm and 31g for the moment. Less chance of ISR in my experience, less sting for the spicy ones. For Reta and Tirz it's 5 to 6mm, whichever box my hand reaches first.
The bigger the width, the smoother the flow with less pressure build up. There probably are a couple of physics laws to back that up but at the moment it's damn hot in Belgium so I'm too lazy to look them up 😎

These are the pens I use for the moment ranked in order of preference, the Gansulin being my n°1.
I have 2 YIFAN and 2 Gansulin and will probably only buy those when I need some more.

I used to think pens were for people afraid of regular syringes but I have been converted. It's just way faster and convenient when its a peptide you use everyday. Even on peptide you don't use everyday, being able to put 3, 10mg vials into 1 cartridge means you are reconstituting less times (albeit more at 1 time) per month.
