Curious if anyone has regretted switching off of tirzepatide in favor or retatrutide. I have seen reports of people switching back to tirzepatide, but not sure how common it is.

I am hitting a stall with tirzepatide, but I have not given up on it, using 15mg/ every six days. I am interested in retatrutide, but not sure if it is worth the investment for me.

Hi, I tried retatrutide for 5 weeks, came from tirzepatide 7,5mg. But it wasn't for me no supression and the foodnoise was hitting hard again. I'm back on tirz, and consider to take Cagrilintide with it.

I was reading a paper published about a month ago, "Appetite, eating attitudes, and eating behaviours during treatment with retatrutide in adults with type 2 diabetes: Results of a phase 2 study".

From memory, the short version is, 275 type 2 diabetics split into a control group, a dulaglutide group (1.5mg), and four retatrutide groups (0.5, 4, 8 and 12mg). I think it ran 36 weeks.

Researchers found that it took at least 4mg of retatrutide to have an impact on appetite scores (there were two tools they used - Appetite Visual Analogue Scale and Eating Inventory scores), and a minimum of 8 weeks in some participants.

Most of the findings were similar to tirzepatide (reduction in disinhibition, cravings for certain foods), but something unique to retatrutide had to do with cognitive restraint from eating, which went a little beyond mere appetite suppression.

The authors did state that results were a little less consistent than with dulaglutide, which seems to be the user experience here, too.

I seem to be far more sensitive to reta than the average. I'm at 1.5mg and I hit a hard can't-eat-anymore wall halfway through what would have been a normal portion before. I'm also finding food advertising to be somewhat annoying -- like why are they trying to convince me to eat when I'm not hungry?

Interesting study, by the way. Even though I'm trying to lose weight, I'm far more interested in the other affects of these peptides since I'm pretty much going to be on them for the long-haul.

Are you supplementing your Tirz with therapy or any other help for the addiction?

I came from tirz 10 mg, going down in tirz while up in reta, - still titrating. now 5 mg tirz, 5 mg reta. i had to do cagri too, because food noise came with a vengeance.
it works wonders, 0,25 mg, the best appetite suppression i ever had on different peps, and I broke my stall with reta, now going out of tirz.
oh, i switched because i got depressed on tirz 10 mg, and was stalled.
i read people going back, but i had to try it out.
i do love tirz though, on doses lower than 8 mg.

Same with me. I’ve been on Reta for a few months now and still at 2mg.
I did find that the food noise started to come back so I switched to dosing 2x a week, 1mg each time and it’s working perfectly.

I added Semaglutide to my Retatrutide for better appetite suppression, never had to do that with Tirzepatide. Can't say I regret it but not 100% sure it was necessary.

I was on Tirz for a long time, maybe 8 months or longer, but I couldn't bear the exhaustion. I switched to Reta, it's so much better now. For me it didn't have the hunger suppression in the beginning, not until 6 or 8 mg per week. Right now I use a little less than 8mg once a week. I'm never really hungry at this dose. I have taken a bit of cagri mid-week for hunger but never really got on a schedule with it. I'm sort of leveled out now so I might add it in on a regular basis.

Thank you for sharing your experience on this. I am hearing a lot about Cagrilintide, I do not know anything about it, these peptides are sending me down the deepest of rabbit holes. lol.

I am going to try and find this study. Cognitive restraint is an interesting phenomenon, you are expanding my tools for self awareness and observational capacity. Thanks for mentioning it.

If food noise is the issue maybe try micro dosing sema?
Food noise is not really the issue, I think tirzepatide does a good job with that, especially when paired with some of my other medications. I think I have just stalled out, but that could just be because I had some injuries and could not work out as much as I used to, if I am being honest. I am also on the max suggested does of tirzepatide, 15mg/week. micro dosing sema is an interesting option. I am going to research that, especially because sema is widely available and very affordable.

I agree, the long term effects are still unknown, we are the alchemist avant-garde in the weight loss world. I am betting that we will be better off in the end for taking glp1s... I like that glp1s have given you the proverbial sunglasses of truth from "They Live", haha

That is an interesting phenomenon to consider, that tirzepatide was contributing to your depression. I am now really considering getting cagri, and reta. thank you for sharing your experience.
