When i first started the sleep was okay but going into week 3 there's been a noticeable decline in sleep quantity. I've tried everything(other than more peps)
-earlier sleep
-stop eating at 6
-phone outside room

The onset of my sleep is extremely quick with magnesium but staying asleep has become an issue. Looking to see if anyone had this and was able to figure it out without additional meds or if it goes away at a certain point?

Heading into 4th week 1mg twice a week since the beginning.

I just gave up on my CJC protocol of not eating before bed and started eating carbs right before bed

Slept like a baby

I think a lot of times we may not feel hunger but are body is waking up cause it’s hungry

1mg is killing your sleep? Didn't start till 6mg for me, and now on 8mg it's worst. Wife and I are doing gummies at bedtime. Half at bedtime, and the second half when I wake up about 11pm-1am. Don't mistake 4am for 11pm and take the second half at 4. I woke up wide awake at 4:45 and got up and stumbled around the house. Took me a few to even turn the coffee on. 🤣

I wish I could say it gets better… like you I easily fall asleep (taking magnesium) but I do wake up like a clock every night between 4-5 am. I tend to use the bathroom and seems the freshly emptied bladder does allow me to go back to sleep rather quickly. I never had to do it before Reta, lol…now it’s been a year…
I also do go to bed a lot later than I used too, typically around 1am. Before Reta I slept like a baby 12am - 8am… now I get about 6hrs only…

Trying this tonight, what do you do just a piece of toast or something? lol Or do i slap a whole bag of popcorn 🤣

Some people just don't do well on Reta. I'm one of them. Did you try Tirz? I feel Tirz has given me the same exact results as Reta but without the sides...
I haven't actually, i keep debating it. I have all this Reta so a little annoying to switch it up but i don't know how much longer i can handle this lack of sleep.

i take 10mg melatonin about 2-3 hours before bed and stopped having sleep problems. i dont have them from reta tho, other things cause bad sleep for me.

but at least in my experience, 10mg nightly melatonin was effective af. it doesnt make me tired or put me to sleep, but it does however greatly increase the quality of my sleep.

Crazy exact same here, sleeping at 12-1230 waking up at 5am heart starts racing then i try forcing myself back to sleep before it's time to work 🤣 sometimes i'm able to sleep that extra hour to 6-630.

Time. It stops around week 6 or so. Sleep is good again
What a tease... so close but so far away...i'll be checking back in at week 6 to let you know. Today i try carbs, week 6 i give up hope and switch to tirz 😆

good lord that sounds shitty. you dont have sleep apnea or anything, do you? this is the glp1 or something?

2mg weekly split into two doses so 1mg tues, 1mg thurs i'm trying to follow the study titration to 4mg week 5 but no way i can with these sleep sides.

nope for sure the glps i was sleeping like a baby before them always 7 hours straight and that's all i need. For longevity the studies say 6.4 to 7.8 are best anything above or below are detrimental to health so i'm worried i'm not meeting the 6.4 threshold.

I've gone through spells of sleep quality on reta. I was getting it dialed in but tried DSIP and that threw a wrench in the plans. Between that and a reta dose increase, I'm back on the struggle bus, waking up around 3-5am for no good reason. I'm still keeping my sleep debt in check with naps and normally being lucky enough to get back to sleep most mornings.

Carbs never made a difference for me, but that's what AI suggested for me as well.

To help with sleep I take:
480mg Magnesium Glycinate
Glycine
Taurine

My guess is I'll just need to wait it out and it'll even out.

When you were stable on your reta dosing how long did it take for you to have some sort of normalized sleep? I'm the same as you waking up 5am for no reason and praying i can fall back asleep for an hour 😂

Reta does typically cause more sympathetic nervous system activation than the other glps, most people notice effects on heart rate more than sleep but no reason why it should not make sleep harder. These types of side effects do usually seem to get better over time
Hunger can be an issue that impairs sleep as well, so sometimes eating something not too long before bed can help.
Melatonin is pretty safe and non toxic and non addictive although doses more like 3mg are likely a better idea than 10mg, an hour or two before bed.
Or if it does not go away tirz instead.

how many mg are the gummies? I do them before bed occasionally but i used to take them every night. i cut them in 1/4. Felt like the brain fog wasn't worth it. Nights that i dont take them i take melatonin. I took them for sleep long before reta but it wasn't helping that much, i was waking up 1-2am after going to bed at 11-12 and just raiding the cabinets(part of the reason i got on the reta munchie weight)

Not even sure, I just do half at bed and the other when I wake around midnight-1AM. No midnight raiding of anything. They help us sleep, but I still get up around 5.

I think I've truly tried everything.. but I'm quite happy with my current sleep stack, which is mag glycinate, valerian root, and melatonin.

It was said above but melatonin is a thing. Is your sleep schedule disturbed waking up or just trouble falling back to sleep?
