Reta with Sema

I’m in month 4 of a Reta/Sema stack. The goal was to completely switch over to Reta but I like the appetite suppression I get from Sema. I’m on week 6 of 6mg Reta and three days later 1mg of Sema. The last 4 weeks it’s been a steady 1-1.5lb a week loss. The worst side effect so far has been allodynia which is no worse or no better than it was with Sema alone.

Has anyone used both at the same time? Used Sema for the higher GLP 1 affinity, Reta for everything else? If so what was your dose? Thanks
I take 1mg of sema on Sunday followed by 2mg of reta on Wednesday.
I started sema on May 4th. I took an extra month at .5mg but otherwise followed the standard wegovy titration schedule. I started reta on August 6th and gradually upped the dose until I got to 2mg on September 2th. I plan to sit at these doses for awhile.

I have lost about 35 pounds at this point and my only side effect has been some discomfort during bowel movements. Nothing that isn't manageable.

Awesome. Thanks

I think I will start with that. Thanks for sharing.

this is helpful since I got put on sema this month and just ordered reta. going to mix the 1.7 of sema with 1.2 of reta. fingers crossed

Wow, you started at 1.7mg of Sema? I didn’t get to 1.5mg until month 5 and waited until month 6 before ramping up Reta. Then it took me 4 months to ramp up to 6mg. Taking it slow and steady to minimize side effects and keep weight loss at a steady moderate pace.

I will second this for anyone that might read this thread. While I might downplay my side effects as "discomfort" it really was painful. Manageable .. yes. But still, it was painful. And this was with me taking it slow. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I had just jumped straight into a larger dose. I can certainly understand how people taking too much/too fast end up in the hospital.

My insurance covers sema and I’m currently on that 1.7 dose… I had to switch from TRZ because of insurance reasons. And my weight loss has completely stalled and stopped. So I’m hoping the 1.7 of sema with 1.2 of Reta will work. Ill be sure to take it slow

For me it was the nausea, even ramping slowly, I had some nausea that I needed to work through. I could not imaging ramping up faster and still being functional during my workday.

6mg Reta on Tuesdays/0.75mg Sema on Saturdays. I just dialed Sema back from 1.0 because I am trying to keep weight loss under 2 lbs/week and I just hit consistent serum levels for Reta (week 4 at 6mg).
That sounds promising??

It’s working for me right now. Patience is key. It took me 4 months to get to 6mg.
Everyone is different. I'm taking half as much and its working for me. The key is going very slow. Have about a month at a certain dose before you consider an increase. Decrease your dose or stop completely at any time you feel you are having a problem.
