Retatrutide

Welcome Linda, lots of good info here. I'm new to the group too, but not the world of Peps. Lots of good suppliers out there but as with everything, lots of charlatans too, so word of mouth is king

Welcome! There's a wealth of information here. If you have specific questions after searching and reading, please ask. We're a friendly bunch.

I just joined this community. I'm very interested in peptides and hope to communicate with everyone.
Welcome Linda! I am assuming by your title you are mainly interested in Reta. Have you used any peptides before? What are your goals?

Hi and welcome! I have used Reta since June 2024. If you have any questions or just want general information about it you can just ask or you can read my intro page below in my signature. Good luck on your journey!

Are the suppliers here trustworthy?

Nobody can guarantee you that. Some suppliers show lab reports from independent labs but you have no idea which batch you will receive. A supplier can be great now and lousy in a few months, it is a very dinamic market. Try to search for longterm established manufacturers/compounders or take part in a group buy that does it's own independent testing

As others indicated, try to look for a seller who has a copy of a COA listing purity for the batch they are selling. Good vendors will have one posted from a trusted testing facility like Janoshik. Look for a fairly recent test. Some lesser selling items may have older but still valid COAs, while the most popular will have very recent certificates. If you are really worried don't shop China direct sources, choose a US vendor. US vendors for the most part are re-selling cheap Chinese peptides at a jacked up price, but at least you don't have to worry about tariffs, customs and international shipping. You will mostly have labels on your vials (except for some like Nexaph 10 vial kits, which come without) which eliminates concern over what you are getting. Everyone has to decide what level of risk they are willing to take when it comes to buying grey market.

There are also US warehouses for the China vendors.
True but the same problem exists with direct sourcing, in that the lack of COA (I know some of them offer testing but not all) and labeling still makes it riskier than just using a US based reseller. Another advantage of using US based resellers is that you have someone to pursue if something goes horribly wrong with a purchase. Going after a Chinese company for this would be impossible.

Did you have any spikes in your heart rate at all?

I think it might help to put my aversion to China in context:

About 20 years ago when I first lost a 100 lbs by low carb dieting I was eating a lot of vital wheat gluten as a wheat substitute in recipes. Vital wheat gluten is used in baking to improve texture and structure of dough. I ate this for years in low carb pancakes, probably every a.m. Then early in the 2000's (2003 or 2004) the news came out that China had been adding melamine to the vital wheat gluten they were selling to the US in order to increase their profit margin. Yes, melamine, a chemical that is approved for a variety of industrial uses (like making melamine plates, bowls, furniture, etc.) I discovered the brand of VWG I had been buying (a well known name brand sold at Wal-mart) all those years was one of those that had been contaminated. So I have no trust whatsoever in Chinese manufacturing practices.

I concede that peptides are different because they know that folks can and will test the peptides for purity, but I don't put it past them to try to save a buck someway somehow (they also sold us contaminated toothpaste a few years later).

Not saying this is the case with you. When people read what "purity" in their vial really accounts for they might be disappointed.

This might be a bad example... If I sent a brownie to Janoshik made with 100% pure sugar it's purity should come in at 100%. Jano won't make mention that sugar was only 20% of the brownie recipe. There won't be mention of eggs, flour, baking powder etcetera on the report. Amo (tide, pure, list, BFF) was confronted with "stinging" batches for months last year. Product tested extremely well. All they said (as far as I'm aware) they didn't use mannitol. This also explained their unique crumbly puck appearance. So what was in that vial besides Tirz that helped me lose massive weight? No idea!

i think you are giving yourself a false sense of security with the domestic resellers. Those coa are worthless and these aren't real businesses. They are the modern equivalent of corner dealers. You can cause them trouble but you're not going to get anything from them.

You mentioned contaminated product from China which is all true but all underground supply comes from China and there could be any contamination in any of them and none of us would know no matter how much testing we do.

When you hire a lab to independently confirm that the peptide sold to you contains what has been represented, it's tested for that peptide only and perhaps sterility if you paid extra. However, they don't intentionally test it for contaminants. The lab is not assuring you that there is no poison in the vial. Conducting that type of testing would be cost prohibitive. Sometimes a contaminant will be accidentally found because that particular contaminant interferes with testing of the target peptide.
