I started with name brand Zepbound at the standard starting dose. Unfortunately, I had some of the same effects although not quite as severe. I did have to wash my unders and pants once and there were a few times that I only made it because our house is so small. That side effect faded over the next few weeks and even restarting after a break on an accelerated titration schedule hasn't triggered it again.

I do agree that she's more than a little "the sky is falling!" here. Glp1s can be so tremendously beneficial to so many. Accounts like hers can do a lot of damage if she starts trotting out that people should only use them if they are the last resort.

Eli Lilly really needs to release their stranglehold on the dosing IMO. 2.5 mg-5mg-7.5mg-10mg titrating up every month is just way too much way too fast for so many and many insurance and prescribing patterns basically force people to go up whether it's medically indicated or not. My dad was very nervous about starting the meds and opted to start at 1 mg and go up 1mg each dosage increase. Impressively it's already improved his IBS symptoms.

The problem the drug companies have with the pens and dosing is the less choices they give you , the more idiot proof it is, and the more options and variations, the more likely people are going to stuff it up and get doses wrong. I think the tirzepatide dosing schedule is probably the best one, reasonably slow and consistent and way less problematic than the ozempic one of 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.7, 2.4mg. At least with the multidose pens you can count clicks and adjust dose that way. With grey peptides you can use any dose you like and people do make dose errors more often.

I completely agree! I think Eli Lilly designed their doses for maximum weight loss to make the highest weight loss claims while making it just slow enough that they wouldn’t have a high drop out rate. These medical trials are so expensive I doubt they have any inventive to try experiment with slower dosing schedule which could offer a better experience for most patients.

It’s super frustrating as if I told my pharmacy I’m only taking a 1.25mg dose on a 2.5mg pen they'd stop prescribing me. It’s just hilarious I’m trying to take LESS of a drug not more it should be safer. It’s frustrating as it’s clear from reading in these forums the ideal dose and titration varies considerably from person to person. The side effects can be terrible for some of us. I wish mayim discussed this rather than dismissing the drugs completely.

There does seem to be a community of people who aren't comfortable with compounded or gray (or perhaps their insurance has strong coverage), but are transferring doses from brand-name injectors into sterile empty vials, as a means of further controlling their dosing schedule.

The kwikipens we have in Europe are so good for this! You twist the pen 60 clicks for one dose so you can twist it say 30 clicks for half the dose.

It’s a shame they don’t have these in the US, but I wonder if they do it to make more money by preventing short dosing (buying a cheaper 15mg pen to take say a 5mg dose so 1 pen lasts 3 months).

Yes , 10 grams reconstituted with 1ml Bac. Looking at my syringe here it's a 1ml 100 U. I dosed the whole barrel . Am I screwed or not. I feel great. I was at 50 mark wich is .5 ml half 1ml syringe. The ones my guy gave me graduate from 10 to a 100 units within the 1ml tube. So you're correct I have to drop a zero off each unit example: 10 is actually 1 on this type of insulin 💉. Ya got me thinking now and I appreciate it , no lie.

Please read some more. Again I will assume you meant 10 milligrams and not actual grams. With that assumption what you’ve said is that you’ve injected 10 mg of Reta on your second dose. 12 mg is the highest dose studied. I hope you’re doing well, it appears you meant to take 10 units (1mg at that dilution)
