Should we expect vendors to honor their stated policy?

I’ve been reading through posts in the vendor section and I noticed most have clear policy about sterility, and how they’ll handle bad test results and customs detainment. I’ve been browsing the actual Telegram groups of vendors and few seem to actually honor these policies. Worst of all, their clients who populate these groups vehemently defend the vendor’s failure to honor their policies. With admins going as far as to erase posts that dare to quote that vendor’s policy.

What’s the point of extensively researching vendors and choosing ones who have good customer feedback when the vendors are scrubbing their groups of anything critical and refusing to honor or even acknowledge their explicitly stated policy? This feels like an uphill battle where one side has all the power. Buyers who have been burned can’t even warn off potential buyers because such comments are quickly scrubbed.

Expect? No.

Hope? Maybe.

It's always important to remember that purchasing in this hobby is not like Amazon, Walmart, or any other retailer. Ultimately, it all comes down to expectations, and limiting those expectations based on reality combined with having a clear understanding of what you're buying and who you're buying it from. Expect the worst and hope for the best. The Chinese especially do not have customer service managers or anyone who Karen or Kevin can demand to speak to in order to get satisfaction.

Personally, I just assume they're either not going to honor any "guarantees", or that they're going to require me to make another purchase as part of their "compensation". I can honestly say I've never based a peptide purchasing decision on whether or not a vendor stood behind their guarantee, because I'm not a fool.

P.S. I will add for the record that the rules the sponsoring vendors here agree to give me the right to restrict or ban them if they fail to honor published guarantees or violate any other vendor rules. They are also unable to edit or delete any posts after 12 hours to ensure that there is no attempt at changing the terms of a sale after the fact, or concealing anything they've said.

Caveat emptor.

That's pretty powerful leverage: deplatforming them. What are the rules sponsored vendors agree to? So the policies they post here have to honored, such as this posted policy? How do we report vendors who are in violation?

One of the reasons I picked the main vendor that I used for a long time was because when ZeroPepGate hit, they made everyone whole. I don't think "this vendor has a history of honoring their guarantees" is a bad criteria to hold to, though I don't believe that it means they will always do so.

I feel like “the juice is worth the squeeze”. We’re buying a product at prices well below what would be required to have a customer service team, and full support. The whole notion of using these products is an excercise in risk tolerance. From the purchase to the injection, there’s some level of risk. We all have to determine what our risk tolerance is. I think the $ saved by purchasing grey is worth the risk for me. I guess you have to decide for yourself if you think “the juice is worth the squeeze.

The only one I've seen scrape their forum of anything negative, or they go to DMs, is ND, though others may do it. My vendors all honor their policies and I've seen one replace a product across the board when given a Jano test that showed it was well underweight. I've found the longer the vendor has been in business, the more likely they are to honor them. There has been a huge influx of new people over the past month though, so we'll see how that plays out. This isn't Amazon by a long shot.

I have never seen a vendor make guarantees based on sterility.

I have a couple that will based on purity or weight, but not sterility. I don't know what they've done when testing groups get that done and show them, if it's bad. Tough luck?

I don't expect anything from the vendors other than what I pay for . Beyond that it's marketing.

If they are making public statements they the risk is completely on them if they don't pony up to what they are making statements about.

If they don't stand behind what they stating ( to achieve more sales) it is impact brand reputation and they run a high risk if loosing sales. Bad news can be viral.

Maybe this interview with the CEO of Janoshik can provide a knowledgable perspective on Risk

He details his laboratory’s capabilities, including LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) for purity and identification, endotoxin testing, and sterility testing. He notes a failure rate of approximately 5% for content (wrong dose or wrong compound) and a 3-5% failure rate for sterility

Anyone can use the contact form to submit a vendor complaint, but at the same time everyone should understand that their individual bad experience with a vendor is rarely enough to result in anything happening. It usually takes more than a single complaint to establish a pattern of problems, especially when someone is new and not fully familiar with sourcing from overseas (you wouldn't believe how many outraged emails I get every day from people complaining that their vendor rep didn't respond to them in under an hour, or over a whole weekend, etc. or that it's been 24 hours since they got their tracking number and it hasn't updated yet).

Based on the thread you linked being nearly 18 months old, my Spidey sense is already tingling. 🕷️

That's really the crux of it; you can make the best decision for your comfort level and circumstances and 9 out of 10 times it works out perfectly, but then that 10th time turns out to be the biggest order you've ever placed and things end up going all sorts of sideways. From day one in this hobby, I didn't spend a penny that I hadn't already decided I could afford to lose.

I could not work out why the vendor left the ad up that offered 90% off all peptides, despite being told about it. Now i know , they cannot edit their posts after a while.
