Smoking cessation.

update: tapering did not work for me. I couldn't seem to get below ten a day. I ran out of cigarettes and stopped making more. (I still have several more pounds of tobacco, my machine, and many boxes of the tubes, which I expect my dearest friend's husband may inherit soon.) I'm hitting a vape for now, and my last cigarette was a week ago.

I am deeply depressed and I hate everybody. You guys, my mom, my coworkers, both my cats, anybody else you can put in front of me. I wake up in the morning, feel horribly depressed, think "Wait, my life is WONDERFUL, what on earth do I have to feel depressed about?" then I look for my box of cigarettes, they're not there, and I remember that I'm depressed because I want a cigarette and can't have one. So I hit the vape, and it is not satisfactory, but nothing will be as satisfactory as holding a flaming stick to suck smoke into my lungs from, and so I am depressed.
August first, and my friend's husband gets the vape, and the backup vape. Then I'll be even MORE depressed for awhile, then less, then fine.
This is what happens to me every time I try to quit smoking. I go into a deep depression. Vaping doesn't help me either. Maybe because we love smoking so much?

I have the same issue , been dipping chew since I was 10 yes I said 10. So 50 years of slowly going from enjoying tobacco to addiction. Back in the day I could buy it myself or lie and say dad sent me in to buy. Thankfully they've cracked down. I searched how long does tobacco stay in the system after quitting. According to the site , it takes 5 months to remove every trace during wich time depression is almost always likely. For me when I quit for a year the first 2 weeks were horrible. They rank nicotine addiction almost a tie with heroin addiction. I think it's more than emotional it's physical as well. But I'm no doctor. There are sites that explain the changes we go through during the whole quit process.

Pulling for your success in this! A caution if you do have an actual history of depression or any suicidal ideation that Chantix can EFF you up. I have had so many crisis calls from clients taking it. Make sure you discuss this with your prescriber. Alternative and add ons include CBT/Biofeedback and hypnosis. Yes, really. There are some scientifically backed apps out there: quitStart, Kwit, QUITNOW, and Kure. I did not name any of these nor do I gain anything but I do know clients and friends who have used them successfully. Like many things, not one works for everyone. Best of luck on your journey!!!! ❤️
