Article implies some well-connected senior citizen got a compassionate use exception for Reta before it is approved? Anyone know more about this? Interesting.

The real story broke almost 2 weeks ago. Lilly has created a clinical trial path to provide expanded access/compassionate use to Retatrutide on a case by case basis. Your physician must apply directly to Lilly and Lilly decides who qualifies.
For more details, go to Clinicaltrials.gov and find NCT07629401. Provide Pre-approval Expanded Access of LY3437943

I agree with zippity, there should nothing political in this.
I think it is political as there is zero evidence of who the recipient was, just random speculation.
As for the cancer studies, I am all in on those as well since I read your post. We absolutely should be putting more research into these GLP'S on all levels. So many unexpected benefits have been discovered already, I am honestly fascinated by the new information coming out every day. Who knows where the new studies will bring us once Reta is released.
I do worry about just how far they will go to add more and more to the GLP's, as the main three seem to have more side effects with each step up. How much is too much?

I'm still not convinced Reta is free from serious cardiac concerns. The last study I read said there were some arrhythmias along with a couple cardiac deaths in the test group, but the paid presenter at ADA called it statistically "insignificant". ?! I'm not 79 but I'm still old and such cardiac issues don't sound 'insignificant" to me.

Same, I tried Reta and my RHR went wild, just watching TV my heart rate would spike to the 140s. I am in my 50's, anything cardiac related is significant to me. I went back to Tirz.

Is cardio side affects not present with Tirz. I've never tried it but know people on it that look great, supposedly only 25.00 a month thru our insurance.

From what I've seen it effects everyone differently, I myself have had no cardio effects while on Tirz. I just wanted to try the new shiny pep Reta. I have seen many with great success on Reta and the same on Tirz. Some had way worse side effects than others on each. Just gotta find the one that works best for your body.

Thank you!

My HR went from 72 to 78-80. I don't notice it. Sleeping it's 53-55 BPM. I'm on toe heart med due some AFIB issues I had almost 4 years ago due to a very serious case of double-double pneumonia. 3 weeks in the hospital, two of those in ICU. My cardiologist keeps me on them, because they don't bother me, low doses and he thinks I should. Haven't had a issue since I got out.

Did you experience any random spikes?

Fwiw, I have also purchased access to Reta. Many people here have 🤷

My rhr went up 10bpm as soon as I started (60-70), it remained elevated-but not moreso-through dose increases, and has since slowly started to come down, now like 67.

I take too many vitamins and supplements, and sometimes I don't take a bottle for years, then go on, I should take that or it's a waste of money. I had a bottle of l-carnitine pills I started taking around the same time as the reta. My heart rate went up but I was also having unsettling flutters/palpitations, which I initially thought was the reta and that I would have to quit basically as soon as I started. But a lengthy convo with Google and AI suggested it might be the l-carnitine. Figured I'd stop that and see what happened, and the palpitations went away immediately. Threw the bottle away so I wouldn't be swayed by my own weird cheapness to take it again

Admittedly, I am on a low dose. But 1.5mg of Reta per week affected my resting heart rate by zero.

Mine went up 10 on .5mg. I'm on 1.5 now and it's coming down. There are a couple studies I read that suggest it's subject rather than dose dependent

Oh my gosh why am I the same with vitamins 😂😂

The guy who blogs about GLP-related stuff on "The Incretins" posted on Bluesky that he approached Eli Lilly about prescribing retatrutide for some of his patients.

So the Retatrutide early access program for patients seems very real. I reached out to Eli Lilly about it last week for a few patients I thought might be good candidates. They called back today for more info.
I gave them the patients information and reasons why I thought these particular patients would be good candidates for it. They listened, agreed that the patients had hit a stall on current therapy and will review my request and get back to me! So it's really real. Updates as I get them!

This is actually a skill issue. Only happens to people who don't take any cardiac supplements.
