Sounds like somebody bought access to Reta?

Article implies some well-connected senior citizen got a compassionate use exception for Reta before it is approved? Anyone know more about this? Interesting.

The real story broke almost 2 weeks ago. Lilly has created a clinical trial path to provide expanded access/compassionate use to Retatrutide on a case by case basis. Your physician must apply directly to Lilly and Lilly decides who qualifies.
For more details, go to Clinicaltrials.gov and find NCT07629401. Provide Pre-approval Expanded Access of LY3437943

If I have to delete another post containing political bullshit, I'm just going to start banning people.
I don't think its political to point out that the single most powerful person in the US who happens to be facing a secret illness just happens to be the same age as the single person given early access to a drug that so many of us have to resort to getting from the grey market. Like it or not the topic kind of matters to the GLP1 community.

I also don't think that its political to point out that GLP1s have been linked to more positive outcomes in cancer treatments. This is a topic that I have been VERY active in researching recently. I kind of need to know about this stuff as do many of us in the community.

Never even occurred to me when I read the article to think about T being Patient X (though I did think maybe someone who will approve or deny the biologic request). I just posted it because it was interesting that an as yet unapproved med had been specially doled out to someone. Compassionate use for a drug that hasn't finished trials yet is a really unusual circumstance, typically only done when no other real option is available.

I agree with zippity, there should nothing political in this.
I think it is political as there is zero evidence of who the recipient was, just random speculation. Same with the secret illness, no real facts to show a secret illness. If you are referring to being diagnosed with CVI, that is an extremely common diagnosis in seniors. Does the topic matter, yes...should we randomly throw unverified info out...no.
As for the cancer studies, I am all in on those as well since I read your post. We absolutely should be putting more research into these GLP'S on all levels. So many unexpected benefits have been discovered already, I am honestly fascinated by the new information coming out every day. Who knows where the new studies will bring us once Reta is released.
I do worry about just how far they will go to add more and more to the GLP's, as the main three seem to have more side effects with each step up. How much is too much?

I'm still not convinced Reta is free from serious cardiac concerns. The last study I read said there were some arrhythmias along with a couple cardiac deaths in the test group, but the paid presenter at ADA called it statistically "insignificant". ?! I'm not 79 but I'm still old and such cardiac issues don't sound 'insignificant" to me.

Same, I tried Reta and my RHR went wild, just watching TV my heart rate would spike to the 140s. I am in my 50's, anything cardiac related is significant to me. I went back to Tirz.
