SRY

Because I don’t want to? I appreciate Alibaba and my layered protection using it and my Apple Pay? I don’t wanna deal with crypto and never will. The end

I said it amazes me. I didn't say to for you to do it. The end of what? You don't get to stifle me, it's a forum. My post might help someone look at crypto a different way. Read yours... it's all about you and I don't give a shit. You do you.

Everyone has different reasons. I'll also never use it. 25-year tech exec, so I'm sure I could figure it out if I wanted to, but I already have very difficult banking situations, and I get audited at least every few years due to investments and such that I'm involved in creating higher scrutiny. I would never introduce more drama to my life with Crypto. I had to switch from SRY to BFF with this last order.

Also have a self employed friend who moved to the US a few years back and gave up all his crypto holdings before he moved because he didn't want the extra scrutiny from the IRS. Also scared of getting his green card reversed for tax reasons too. It's a legit concern.

Personally I live in one of most, let's say, laissez-faire countries in the EU whose government doesn't care about crypto holdings even for capital gains - so I use it at all the time as a payment method.

That's fine and that's your prerogative! 😊

FWIW I was referring to stable coin. Crypto is treated like eBay sales or yard sales, (gains/losses) and the average consumer there aren't enough peptides to buy or pin to equate to a tax burden on stable coin. One can argue the fact you claimed that Form 8949 and didn't have tax repercussions lends heft in getting a pass on an audit. Too bad audit selection is probably done by AI these days.

I can totally see how you want to keep things simple for yourself. Personally I'm not a fan of crypto but sometimes it's the only way to get what I want. Side note based on recent testing trends with SRY you're probably better off with BFF.

You could also just slide someone 5k in cash to anonymously send you some crypto to a wallet that wouldn't complicate your taxes.
