Hello everyone. So for a month and a half i was using Reta and it was working wonderfully. Then I switched to tirz. I switched to tirz for the cardiovascular benefits. I started at 2.5mg like most people do. First week I was not really hungry like I was on Reta. Did my 2nd dose yesterday and today I’m the hungriest I have been since before Reta. I don’t know if last week some Reta was still in my system or not but I am so hungry today after my 2nd dose yesterday. I got the tirz from a very reliable vendor on here so I don’t think it’s bunk but something isn’t working like I was on Reta. I’m sure Reta offers the same cardiovascular benefits,I would just like to see them published. Has anyone else had any similar experience or situations. Thanks everyone

I had the opposite experience, but I take prescribed tirzepatide (Mounjaro). I stopped tirzepatide and switched to retatrutide for one month. Even at just 1 mg of retatrutide, I experienced an increased heart rate, higher fasting glucose levels, and the food noise came back. After switching back to Mounjaro, my glucose, heart rate, and appetite control all returned to normal.

Reta did raise my heart rate a good bit but I definitely wasn’t hungry lol

What was your last dose of reta? You could try to plug it into a half life calculator and get a good idea of whether the overlap is a factor, but reta's half life is 6 days, so yes, you still had some in your system when you switched. Most people report greater appetite suppression with tirz, but that's general feedback without considering dose etc.

I would suggest being patient. Switching after only 6 weeks on a protocol suggests you might benefit from more research / planning.

I started at 1 mg of retatrutide, but I had to lower the dose to 0.5 mg because the GI side effects at 1 mg were too severe. I gave myself a one-week washout period from tirzepatide before starting retatrutide and stayed on retatrutide for a month. I am currently on 5 mg of prescribed Mounjaro (tirzepatide).

Sometimes it takes Tirz up to 48 hours, sometimes a bit longer to kick in. Give it another day or two.

Reta stays in your system for around 32 days.

Reta probably has the same cardiovascular benefits as tirz, but it is not proven yet, and does have more issues with increased heart rate.
Cannot guess what is going on without knowing what dose of reta you were on before you stopped it. It takes around 24 hours to get to peak blood levels after a dose of tirz, but it can be between 12-36 hours, so I would wait for now. Double check your calculations for your dilutions and doses of reta and tirz, in case there is a dose error.

After sema for a year and a half I switched to tirz bc i felt sema was not as effective. I have stayed on 2.5mg for 1.5 years, its such a strrong appetite suppressant for me. It also gives me significant acid reflux tho and I can’t imagine how much more uncomfortable it might get at higher doses.

Give it a day or two. I don't feel the full effect the day after pinning, but on the 2nd day after, it's full force.
There are also weeks I feel like it's working less on the 7th day, sometimes it works really well.
Sometimes the whole week I will feel it working just okay, and the next one is like 'boom!'
So, yes, give it time before drawing defnitive conclusions 🙂

I was on 1mg of Reta a week. Started at 500mcgs. Took a week off then started tirz. Started at 2.5. Today I’m just as hungry maybe more

There is plenty of data indicating that Reta has strong cardiovascular benefits. I told my cardiologist that I was on Reta and he said stay on it, they are seeing massive improvements in cardio function with GLP1s.

In theory 2.5mg of tirz should reduce hunger more than 1 mg of reta, but effects and side effects are individually variable. I spent ages trying to work out what dose of tirz to use to replace ozempic at 0.22mg every second day that was causing side effects, and worked out it should be about 3 or 4mg a week. I ended up on 15mg to get any better appetite suppression , but at least with less nausea, which is way off from my calculations.

Depends a bit on what you want to achieve here. If you are after quick results for some reason , you can try pushing the dose of tirz, otherwise the problem will be solved as you go up in doses.

If you are trying to stick to a certain number of calories per day and that is a struggle on your current dose of tirz, the only safeish way of increasing doses faster is smaller more frequent doses, but you have to accept higher risks of more sudden or severe side effects. If you go down that path look at glp plotter first. If you want to push doses a bit just add an extra mg every second day of tirz, then an extra 1.5mg very second day after a while. Smaller doses cause smaller peak blood levels and do not take as long to fall to pre dose levels. I would guess you are not likely to get a lot of side effects immediately from dose increases as you are really hungry, usually the first signs the drug is doing something is less hunger or mild nausea, if these are absent increasing doses is usually ok. Tiny frequent doses can usually get you to a working dose whatever that is in you in a few weeks. For example 1.5mg /2 days is x 3.5 per week = 5.25mg/week. You can always swap back to weekly doses once you get to a stable dose. And you must slow down a lot on increases once you start getting side effects or effects.

Or just take your time and increase by 2.5mg every 4 weeks. No schedule is going to prevent all side effects, the idea is to try to not get hit with sudden severe ones like vomiting.

Why don't you take more reta if you don't feel the effects? 1mg is very little. Max dose in trials is 12mg.
