Hi All,
I was on sema from last Nov to July this year. Lost weight (5kg on the smaller doses) When i hit the 2.4mg does got strong side effects, Fatigue and Sadness. This sent me into spiral, with my BED and I put the weight back on 🙁 So i stopped.

Looking to start reta, however unsure of what dose to start at? Initially was thinking about 0.5mg, but then I have been glp-1 before so I might be adpated to it.
Maybe I'll start with the 2mg dose as per the trails.

Anyone any thoughts on this?

Thanks

There’s not as much GLP agonist in Reta as Sema. Most study participants start at least 2mg Reta for 4 weeks to get buildup in body. Sides are odd, hydrate with electrolytes well. Dry mouth and sensitive skin are things to look for, just know it might be the Reta. Don’t go up too fast, there’s a hell of a difference in dose increases. Take your time.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
I has sensitive skin with Sema aswell. Need to be more focused this time round. Last time i wasn't strict about calorie counts ( although it was lower, due to reduced noise), hydration ( although i was getting through 2 litres, potassium+himalyian salt).
Was getting 2 heavy weights sessions in with my PT. Defo needed to do more carido, this was stiffled due to fatigue, at the higher doses.

Thanks

I had some fatigue at first, but it was on injection day. Someone said pin at night and that was the ticket. If I’m tired while sleeping, it’s a win-win!

Curious about why you're going to reta instead of trying out tirz first? Not judgy, but I'm used to thinking of sema-tirz-reta sorta as big, bigger, biggest and curious about what made you pick reta.

I think that it's becuase I have heard so much about reta in the pods etc that I watch; e.g. Mind Pump, Dr W Seeds, Dr Tyna. Maybe i should have gone to Triz given that, from what i've read it has a better reduction in food noise, which is something that I need given my Binge eating disorder.
Looking back I should have started on Triz, my friend who's a pharamcist didn't understand why i was on Sema.

Lets see what happens when my Reta arrives.

For stifling food noise Sema is the hardest hitter. If you had tolerance issues aside from a lower dose I agree Tirz would be a logical step for many reasons. It has a stronger initial effect on food noise/suppression (than Reta) which should translate to effectiveness for Binge Eating Disorder. It's more affordable and it's FDA approved. Most doctor's don't even blink anymore when patients say they are using tirzepatide.

So like you said, see what happens when your Reta arrives. If you're not getting the effect you're looking for freeze for maintenance and give Tirz a shot.

totally fair. I have BED issues too, nowhere NEAR as destructive as it was when I was young, but enough to give me a struggle. I loaded right UP on tirz, plus some Survo to stack if ever needed. The tirz is treating me very well; no compulsive eating and just a bit of fatigue that I'm trying different things to fight.

#1 - reta is not sema so you are not used to it.
#2 - you have been off of sema for some time so even if you started back with that you would need to start from the beginning all over again.

My advice start with that .5mg dose to see how you react. If you are fine then week 2 take 1mg. If still fine the 3rd week take the 2mg and stay at that level. If at any point you have a minor reaction stay at that dose until you stop having the reaction.

Losing weight faster isn't worth having a serious reaction that causes you to end up quitting your program.

this^

Slow and steady wins the race. Play it safe. I only started at 2mg myself because of the fact that i was transitioning from Semaglutide to reta. Even then- there's guides on how to do that properly here which I slightly neglected. Honestly, I could have started at 1mg and probably had the same results so far since I'm a hyper-responder to GLP-1s. Could have saved a little bit of money, too 🤣

Feel the drug out, keep track of your diet to see what your appetite suppression is like and up the dosage if weight loss is negligible.
