I'm at my target weight and I stopped Reta. I was taking a high dose (8 mg per day) and I stopped it all of a sudden. It caused me some mood issues. Is it normal? How long does it take to go away? How was it for you?

Edit: i was wrong. I mean 8mg a week 😅

8mg a day/56mg a week? Is that correct?

I hope you mean 8mg a week. As for your question Reta can cause Anhedonia I don't know if Trzip does or not but I felt flat, lost libido, just felt like I didn't care about anything after 8 weeks on Reta. I stopped for a month and it got better. Now several people pointed out that fast weight loss and a large calorie deficit, not enough electcrolytes can cause those issues also.

You should titrate down slowly next week 6mg week after 4 etc
Reta take 34 days to be completly out of your system
and when reta is gone the hunger will come back with a vengeance so be rdy

Hope not.

I’m 5 lbs away, and thinking how to back down to a maintenance dose. Currently on 8mg, and thinking of working down to 4mg. I’ll never totally go off Reta. I can’t believe I’ve lost 50lbs so far, and it’ll be 55lbs. There’s some stubborn belly fat I hope goes away slowly with shots and exercise.

After 4 weeks, your body will contain less than 10% of the maximum cumulative dose (equivalent to ~12 mg with 8 mg/week). There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I was also on 8 mg, and my last dose was in late May, so I’m past the two-week mark. I quit cold turkey like you. I figured I’d just let it wash out, since reta has a long half-life anyway.

My experience has been quite the opposite. I feel amazing, like myself again. I wish I had quit sooner. I wonder where your mood issues are coming from. Do you feel down, tired, or fatigued?

A few thoughts... mood issues and low sex drive (assuming normal hormones) could be from not eating enough. My other thought is I would not quit Reta cold turkey. Titrate down instead and do it slowly-- say 1 mg a week and then stay at 1 mg a week for another week or two. Then maybe drop to .5 mg a week before quitting. Create a transition period and use other non-GLP-1 peptides to support continued weight loss and energy. This I think, would be good for establishing a new baseline for your weight loss.

Tbh people talk about Anhedonia like a bad thing. I almost feel like i dont have half the emotions i normally do. Been great tbh. Lifes been hitting me pretty rough and im just in the gym chillin 🤣 havent come off though so ill let you know in a few years. I guess.
