Stubborn Belly Fat

This is a great thread and I can weigh in on the expectations a bit.

I lost a bunch of weight on keto over the past year. Body fat from 30ish% down to 10.9 in April per dexa. I was lifting and doing cardio religiously and working abs consistently.

I started trt at the beginning of May and immediately gained like 15# of pure fat. I started reta shortly after to get that under control. Hunger on test is no joke!

I got to a point where I had vascularity above and below my little pouch of belly fat. Ultra frustrating.

I had a belly my whole life. Not massive but that fat around my belly button has been there since I was a kid.

My thoughts at this point are that it's an age related thing and possibly genetics. If I drop into single digit body fat I bet I can reduce it some. Not sure though if I can fully eliminate it.

I'm 45 years old and I feel like that's a big part of it.1189.webp1190.webp

I'm just over or very close to 10.0% in those pics. That's just now. 5'6" 141#.

It's also not just skin. Looks like it in the pics but a pinch and I can get some fat between my fingers. Nearly everywhere else a pinch and you can tell it's just skin.

It does give me somewhere to inject peps easily, so there is a bright side

Tesamorelin is actually FDA approved for that exact use. The trials were on adults whit HIV but that shouldn't change anything. Generally, weightloss comes from everywhere and you can't really target it. If you get lean enough, it will go, but Tesa is probably the only thing that would be an exception to that and may help you focus on that area.

Although I still think Tesa would be a good rec for OP, this is not what Tesa is FDA approved for.
