Hi yall, I am 29 year old male living out in Southern California. I was fit growing up, played sports in high school did a lot of exercise outside of sports all the way up through college and beyond. I got a work from home job around 3 years back and my lifestyle became very sedentary, started going to the gym less and ordering a lot more take out. Needless to say, I put on about some weight that is suborn to get off. I am very well educated on exercise , nutrition, and sleep. I have heard of peptides for a while now, and have done my due diligence to know what its all about. I am very interested in some peptides in particular, like reta, glow, and maybe RU. I am also very interested in reta because I am going to try to help my mom lose weight, but I want to try it out myself first. She has hashimotos and that is something I want to research more in this space to see if there have been any others with similar experiences. Happy to be here tho!

Glad you found the place, hope you find all you are looking for. There are a lot of good resources and people willing to help here.

Good luck!

It may at least help with something, like sleep:

Context: to date, I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's, PCOS, Adenomyosis, Hidradenitis suppurativa, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, epilepsy.

A few years back, I asked my (then, but now no longer) endo about LDN. he laughed me out of the office, telling me only junkies took Naltrexone, and LDN is a gimmick.

Fast forward to about 6 months ago, I was referred to see a rheumatologist by my PCP. Bloodwork was showing markers for rheumatoid arthritis. On my 2nd visit with this rheumatologist, he asks if I had ever heard of LDN, and I nearly fell out off the table. I told him what the Endo said and my rheumatologist just kind of rolled his eyes. He told me that these issues aren't cut and dry and that there's this underlining issue with inflammation that seems to keep popping up with every new diagnosis I have. He said he'd write a script for it if I wanted to try it.

Insurance wouldn't cover it, but it's not really all that expensive. I've been taking it for these last 6 months and I don't think it done anything to my inflammation TBH. However, my sleep is AMAZING. I didn't even think my sleep was all that bad, but after the LDN I fall asleep faster and I have a deeper sleep. It's great. Not really the expected result, but I'll take it.

Switch doctors. I've been where you are, it's not worth trying to work around a doctor that just looks at basic thyroid bloodwork and declares everything is normal. Find a doctor who will listen. It can be difficult, but it's worth it.
