What gives? I started tirzepatide at 2.5 mg/week and six or seven weeks ago and am now up to 3.5 mg/week. It seems like I have heard repeatedly that tirz reduces the desire for sweets. So far, it has had the opposite effect on me. Sometimes/often sweet foods are the only foods that sound good to eat to me.
I don't usually give in to this craving but find it strange. I'm hoping that I will get over it.

I’m still dosing up tirz but in previous weight loss attempts, my sweet tooth meant I wasn’t getting enough protein. I don’t know how the connection makes sense. A chocolate protein shake would scratch the “sweet” itch while giving me protein which actually took care of the craving.

Let’s be careful here. How often have people said willpower is enough to lose weight, implying it was in our head?

The gut-brain connection is only beginning to be understood.
I have to say that I'm with vewdew34: Zero cravings - all gone. Of course, I titrated up per the Lilly protocol and went from 2.5 to 5 after 4 weeks. My guess is that the OP's researcher is under-dosed. My two cents fwiw.

Idk why this happens, but one of my girlfriends who wasn’t ever a sweets person craves them now. She lost weight and her markers are all fine. I wonder if it has something to do with under eating carbs because that’s the only time I personally crave them.

My only experience is with Reta. I've always had something of a sweet tooth so that hasn't gone away but now I'm satisfied with one bite or one small piece of whatever. I also find that I'm looking for something sweet when I've under eaten in general either intentionally (fasting) or unintentionally due to lack of hunger or new food aversions.

I wish I was still interested in some of the "healthier" sweet options like a chocolate protein shake or bar folks are suggesting above. Those don't work for me anymore at all.
