Hi all,

I've been using compounded tirzepatide for a few months and have had great results. However, with the patenting of the multi-use vials and the general way that the pharmaceutical industry works, I am concerned about availability.

I would very much like to continue under a doctor's and dietitian's supervision, but avoid outrageous pricing.

Has anybody ever used a third-party provider for either the compounded or gray market? If so, how did you approach your doctor?

Thanks so much.

I tell my doctor I'm getting compounded from a mail order service and that's it. We had already talked about not being able to afford the pharmacy name brand stuff so she knew I was gonna go off label. I just don't tell her that the compounding pharmacist is me.

I, too, want to be under the supervision of my pcp while on tirzepatide and more importantly I want the medication use in my medical records. So, I've actually never addressed it with my pcp. She keeps sending scripts to Lilly Direct and I keep ignoring Lilly Direct's text messages. 😂 When she asks if I need a refill, I say no, I'm good thank you. 🙃 Probably not the best plan, but it's been working.

My problem is reta. The only way I could do it above board, is to be in a clinical test group. Oh well. . . .

This seems like it would be the easiest way. TY

I told my DR I was on tirz from a telehealth dr. I told him I switched to compounded reta. He upgraded my quarterly blood work (for trt) and keep an eye on the numbers.
