Morning all, I have seen a few posts elsewhere where people are saying that they've just gone up a dose and all the appetite suppression went away and I thought that can't be right and largely ignored these kind of posts but.. here I am with one of them posts! I'm only on 5mg just gone up and just like the posts I disregarded all of a sudden I feel like I want to eat everything in the house!

Is this tolerance based do you think or is this the body saying I've been on 1400 calories for over a month I want more food? I'm a 42 year old 6ft 5in guy, I started at 19st 8lbs or 274lbs if you're in the US and in 5 weeks I've dropped 2 stone or 28lbs.

What do you think causes this?

Welcome 👋 Being a person of your stature, you might have to increase your dose and possibly increase a few extra calories in protein. Protein and water is key. I must congratulate you. 👏 👏 👏 You're doing great!

I didn't see much benefit at 5mg and hunger from time to time can happen regardless. If you look at the clinical trials best dose for many is the 12-15mg per week. That said low and slow imho is best. I lost at sema 0.5 but flat lined with Tirzepatide until 10mg.

I would slowly titrate up dose some and when hungry try for something health - chicken, salad, fruit, etc. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers guys.. I had a day where I pigged out and ordered and Indian, curry rice naan bread and set about it! I got halfway, I would of normally smashed it but this time halfway made me disabled for the rest of the evening I couldn't sleep because I felt more bloated and uncomfortable than I ever have before and the next day I was still burping the flavours at 2pm.. I don't recommend it! But I seem to be better now so maybe I was just genuinely hungry.. strange how you don't always feel like it's doing anything

1400 is definitely on the low side for someone with your frame size.
Remember that appetite suppression is a side effect, not the goal. The goal is losing weight.

Eat a minimum, but also eat if your hungry. Just try to eat healthy and slowly and you'll get full faster. If you stop losing weight for a few weeks, then consider upping your dose.

Just to chime in here, I found that if I ate sweets or complex carbs it would trigger hunger more.
I tried to stay with healthy options and if I was really craving something I would eat a bowl of soup for 200 calories, All that hot food in belly was all it took.
There you have it my hack!

If you want the British translation- Just eat low calorie soup, and Bob's your uncle, no more hunger.

That's a good strategy if it's volume that is triggering your hunger.

Reta has a reputation for that sugar craving. But I feel it's really just a craving for carbs and I find that a piece of fruit or a couple pretzels really kill that craving quick. Sometimes I get a craving for fat which I fill with some cheese or smoked salmon (and occasionally a small piece of chocolate or a hamburger)

In general we're not very good at knowing what our bodies are craving but I've been trying to get better at it. If I feel general hunger, the first thing do is drink some water to see if it goes away.
