I am a techno idiot and stuff I've read about crypto makes me want to lie in a dark room for 4 hours 😳. I'm in the UK so most of the USA apps don't apply. Anyone knowledgeable about how to commence with crypto in the UK? Everything I look at seems to hit a dead end 😞 What apps to use (simplest and easiest!)please. If I get pointed in the right direction I'll work out what to do. I think 😂

Yes, most are stopping PayPal. But crypto isn't as hard as you think, I promise.
First thing to do if you haven't already is download and set up coinbase, including linking it to your preferred payment. I use debit card as it's faster. In the UK we have a 24 hour hold on buying crypto once it's initially set up, so if you do that now it means you'll be able to buy tomorrow. The hold applied to all exchanges, but I know and use coinbase.

My coinbase is just set up with my debit card. I did wait a few days before trying to buy, but I can't think why you'd be declined. Try the bank transfer and see what happens.
Update for anyone not thoroughly bored by this. I certainly am 😁 Bank transfer of £100 went through (Santander). It verified I was human and checked the security of my connection at least 20 times. Then the bank put up a message saying they were unable to do the transaction! Yet when I went onto the main bit (technical vocabulary 😂) the money was there!?!? However I've learned a lot and hope that I can learn how to spend the bitcoin tomorrow. Whoopee!

I tried that with coinbase, and they wouldn't release the money until after 10-12 days... don't do it.
It did keep me from buying with SSA when they just went AWOL, so I guess that was a good thing. 😅 Exodus and credit card is easy and works.
It is. I thought I knew a LITTLE about it but I come here and find out they are not all sent on the same network! Who knew? That has made me a little scared to try it and buy cheaper through JEEP

I know NOTHING about networks lol, I just buy the crypto in 'buy and sell' tab, and then send it to the address, the vendor gives me. I have bought from JEEP 4 weeks ago, and it went all well.

I don’t think so. It’s been a while since I transferred money to coinbase. I know they hold the crypto for a certain amount of time before you can sell it or move it.
