And ty JC! Im going to move forward qith buying some then, on my phone!!!!
I am new to this whole world and didn't know it is not safe to use exodus on my computer. I downloaded exodus on my phone and can't even figure out how to get logged in to my wallet.

Ive been using exodus and didn't know it wasnt safe on my desktop. But I believe Zippity, hes seen so.e things. Last night I move around a LOT of money in and out of my Exodus account so grateful for any safety advice. Use an ai chatbpt like chat gpt and screenshots and you'll get there

Any digital platform can be compromised including mobile phones. I use Exodus just long enough to move crypto in and out for transactions and leave almost zero balance there. I am not worried about using the windows desktop any more than I am for my android phone (equally cautious). If I leave crypto anywhere it's on coinbase but working on a hardware wallet. Any suggestions?

I just did the same with Eth. I linked my checking account to one of the big exchanges by downloading the exchange's App on my phone. I also setup my wallet with Exodus by downloading their App. This way my Eth is purchased via the big exchange and then moved to the Exodus wallet from where I can pay a vendor. It took some time but I used AI to help me ... which which provided insanely accurate step by step instructions every time I told it my next decision within the respective App

hardware wallet. Any suggestions?
I use a Trezor Safe 3. If you go the hardware wallet route, make sure you make yourself a fire proof seed phrase back up. If you have more questions about this, let me know.

Edit: you are smart to only leave coins on an exchange that you are willing to lose.

Well I used it for BFF and it was accepted 😬 and they said they only accepted usdt eth so whatever it was it found its way into binhs crypto wallet.
Strange but since they do need ETH to send USDT ERC20 if they want to move the coins somewhere else they probably accepted it. I see now in you're picture that you had the option to choose USD Tether (USDT) besides ETH

I got the fire proof seed phrase back up first - excellent suggestion!

I recently got to the point where I was about to commit payment with USDT only to be halted by the fact that “gas fees” aren’t permitted to be drawn from the USDT / ERC20 wallet. I learned the hard way that it MUST be from an ETH specific wallet.

Since I moved my money around in USDT (and only for the amount of the planned purchase) I now have to fund my ETH wallet taking another 7 days waiting period while I wait for the new set of ACH funds to clear holding.

I admit, a 7 day wait time penally for being hasty is probably appropriate for me not doing enough research, but…

Does anyone know if I’m overlooking a simple way to move funds from USDT to ETC wallet without already having ETH present?

I’m doing Kraken > Cake Wallet if that makes any difference.

Can't you just purchase a little ETH in Kraken and send to your Cake wallet? Then you'll have gas funds available for any USDT transfers on ERC-20.

And if you're still learning, make sure to do a few trial transfers to wallet first. It's a cheap way to get familiar with the process and avoid stupid mistakes. I accidentally used the wrong default network on a transfer sent to my wallet ERC-20 address. Oops. I was lucky that Base and ERC-20 use the same address so was able to find and recover my crypto after several minutes of panic. Could have gone very wrong if sent to a Sol or Tron address.

Hey, so yes - that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m now waiting out the 7 day hold on funds transferred into Kraken to finish, and then fund ETH wallet in addition to the ERC20 to move forward.

Thanks, for this - it sounds like I’ll need to learn a bit more about ETH and specifically the network options it seems.

Definitely still learning, but I’m at least already comfortable with migrating funds to wallets, sending test transfers, and making payments from wallets, and trying to account for fees, but was accustomed to the fees being drawn from of the same type of funds that were being sent. I made the mistake of assuming that the same would be true for USDT (that the fees would be paid in from USDT).

Which AI did you use, these AI models can be very finicky?

Well, good, I suppose. But for future reference, USDT is its own currency that is transferred over other networks like Ethereum or Solana or Tron. So, you talk about USDT-ETH, USDT-SOL, and USDT-TRON etc. You need to pick USDT at the top level, and then on the next screen they will ask you to pick the network on which you want to transfer the USDT.

Note that in addition to the USDT you purchase, you also need a little bit of "gas" charge you need to pay on the network it will be transferred on. So, if you want to transfer USDT over ETH, you will need a bit of ETH to pay the network "gas" charge.

Exodus will do this for you automatically. You just need to have the appropriate amount of USDT and ETH in your wallet.
