Using your name when ordering

Hi, so it might be a weird question, but I'm really worried about safety - do you use your actual name when providing the address to your vendor? Or not?

I considered using a different name but I realised, in my country at least, if I miss the delivery I’d have to go pick it up from my post office with ID. Would be a bit awkward to explain…

Yes, real name and everything, and USPS especially needs all the help it can get. Your package actually looks more suspicious with a different/fake name to your home address, IMHO.
 
I use my real name. If the government wants to come after you it is very easy for them discern who you really are, regardless of steps taken to disguise your identity. The most you can do is make it a bit harder for them to figure out, but unless you have been off the grid and living away from civilization since your home birth where your mother had no assistance or documentation, you can usually be identified in a matter of minutes should Uncle Sam decide to take an interest in you.

Honestly man I know I’m very new here. But I thought about the same question. Should I open a P.O. Box, Amazon locker, get this shit shipped to my work 😅 uses a friends business warehouse. At the end of the day any of these options are still going to require your ID and proof of identity either from you or whoever you use. Don’t be worried about using your name, you’re chillin bro 🤙

It does matter, and it matters way more for ordering gray market and even more when ordering black market.

Use the name of a person who regularly receives mail at the address you are shipping to. ESPECIALLY if your order is legally questionable.

Hopefully others have explained that peptides aren't a big deal. Once you start getting into schedule 3/4 that's when you should potentially look into best practices.

There's an easy way to avoid getting questions like that. It's called keeping your mouth shut if you don't know what you're talking about. Suppose the OP was making their order with this thread open waiting for a response and took that as confirmation to use a different name, causing their shipment to be seized by customs. Giving out stupid information is one thing, but giving out potentially harmful information is another.

I didn't quote the part of your reply where you answered the question. I don't disagree. But there is no reason for name calling. I like this place becuse everyone works to help educate people, not tear them down. You aren't new, there is no excuse for this. With that, I will end my involvement in this thread and this discussion.

How do you know that using a different name will cause your shipment to be seized by customs?
 
I have used a fake name many times and have never had a problem. Even if I were to use my real name, I am not a homeowner so the package name would still not match the homeowner's name. I have rented like 15 different places over the years moving back and forth for school, internships, and jobs, never changing my official govt address on my driver's license, and received hundreds of packages (from the US and China) and had never had a problem with my package being held or not being delivered because I don't officially live somewhere.

Now I can't guarantee that you'll have the same experience. I have seen some drama on MesoRx about people not getting a refund from the vendor if a fake name was used. I am willing to hypothetically lose a couple hundred dollars now and then to prevent my name from being added to some permanent customs list where everything I order for the rest of my life will be closely monitored. Yes, I am aware that if the govt really wanted to find out who ordered the package, they probably could. But no one is doing that level of investigating for a tiny package of technically not even illegal research chemicals. And if they did, there are four people in my house who move in and out every couple of months so good luck figuring which one of us it was.

Again, I am not recommending anyone else use a fake name. Just sharing my experiences.

If you have peptides delivered to your house that would absolutely be a huge red flag. I have my stuff sent to a work address with a bogus name. A couple of my employees know to route the packages to me so I get to order incognito.

Maybe USPS and US law enforcement can be tricked that way, but in Europe (at least where I'm from) 'that shit ain't gonna fly'. In fact, you'll be more suspicious (flagging for illicit activity and possibly triggering manual review at the postal service) when using a fake name.

Best way to hide is in plain sight.

There are a lot of imagined risks here, but what are the real risks? The real risks, as I understand them, are losing Global Entry/TSA Precheck vs increased chance of confiscation/not being able to get your package.

If you ship to your real address, no matter what name you use, and it gets seized, from what I have seen reported from people that this happened to, you risk losing Global Entry/Precheck for everyone in the household. You can theorize about other consequences, but this seems to be the only practical consequence that has been reported. You are too small a fish and the 'crime', if it even really is one, just isnt worth anyone's time to follow-up on. Unless you are importing large scale amounts of product for resale, the chances of anyone coming after you are basically zero. So if you don't care about known traveler programs, just use real info.

If you use a fake name, it doesn't matter for losing access to those programs becuse they seem to disqualify the entire household, but it may make it more likely for them to flag your package. If you are worried about Global Access and still want to order from China, a different name and address (work for instance) would likely protect you from this but again may make it more likely for your package to be flagged. Also, if it wasn't successfully delivered, you wouldn't be able to pick it up from a local hub. So basically bigger chance of losing your stuff.

I have ordered from China, but it was my first order and I didn't realize the risk to my known traveler status. Going forward, I'm sticking to US shipping. I have to be more patient, wait for things to be in stock, and potentially deal with more vendors, but it seems like the safest way to go based on my acceptable level of risk.
 
So, if I have pre-check and my husband is waiting on an appointment to get pre-check, how many think it would be a red flag if I recently received an order shipped from China with my real name and address? I've been thinking of placing a second order for further lab research. Would it be wise to consider domestic shipping at this point?

The only possible issue would be if you had an order confiscated. There is no issue legally importing anything from out of the country. Just losing Precheck is an open question. From what people have reported, if you have a package confiscated, they will yank your Global Entry which will also cause you to lose Preckeck. I don't know if you only have Precheck and not Global Entry if a confiscation will cause you to lose Precheck. I haven't seen that discussed. Personally, I value my Precheck a lot, and my wife would kill me if we lost it, so I have moved to US shipping. You have to be more patient and wait for someone you trust to have what you want in stock, but I feel like its safer.
 
I use my real name but my work address so I can sign for stuff and not have it left on my porch in 90 degree heat for 9 hours.
 
I always use my name, but I'm also not ordering anything illegal.
My local post office lady, which serves a small village of about 40 houses and some outlying farms, is a peptide user, so we sit and chat about peptides and talk about sending peps to labs for analysis.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you're buying distribution amounts. As I understand it, when border patrol seizes peptides they actually flag it as HGH to make the seize look legal.

Still, illegal or not, slap your legal name on it. Denial is the defense if something arises, next to ignoring the issue entirely. There's no way to prove that you ordered it just because your name is on it. Of course, you don't want to have to run that defense, but that's how it is.
